  1. Or possibly Steinway & Sons?
  2. Could be. But I thought I'd see if anybody out there recognises it?
  3. Yes, it's a grand piano. Don't know what the clue is though? Possibly a classical music label? But I don't think they normally do 45s?
  4. Does anybody know which record label this sleeve belongs to?
  5. Thanks ever so much garethx, I bought that Lp and I arrived home today to find it had arrived earlier in the week. I've just played it, the whole LP, and I'm absolutely chuffed with it ALL, not just the track this thread is all about. I'm off to play it again. Brilliant. Anybody who's not listened to an Lp by this guy, do yourself a favour and do so, he's awesome.
  6. Honestly, I'm not getting at you but why did you think it necessary to make this statement? Did / do you think it was an unworthy record then / now?
  7. Why don't you get the DJs from these venues to tell you whether or not it was played. A lot of records that are considered not so great now sounded great then, especially at 3am in the middle of nowhere, high on whatever took your fancy. I have a copy on the original Pye label but that's cos I'm a 'Collector' who's always liked the record, quite possibly for the reasons described in the latter part of the last sentence.
  8. Interesting. Spotted a UK release on MGM. Must be one of the mid 70s re-issues?
  9. Hi Garethx, So this defo has "I Can't Make It Anymore" on it?
  10. Mixed Bag? Is that the title of the Lp?
  11. My Dad (RIP) used to love Richie Havens. He was on UK TV shows quite a bit in the past. He also loved Lowell Fulsom, (also named Fulson). James Brown and Jimmy Smith too. A real kool kat my Dad on the quiet. :-) Oh, and Mose Allison as well.
  12. But can anybody confirm that it DID come out on a UK Verve Lp?
  13. I decided to give up on the little known fact that this record came out on a UK Verve Lp. Or so I thought. I haven't found one yet. Mind you, I haven't really tried that hard. Can anybody confirm that it DID in fact come out on a UK Verve Lp? Anyhow, just a couple of weeks back, I decided to track down a copy on US Verve Folkways and already I've got competition. If you find two Pete, let me know and I'll do likewise.
  14. Major Lance - You Don't Want Me No More US - Okeh Canada - Epic
  15. I think my Chess copy maybe an issue Joe but I can't check until the weekend. As for an Alteen Demo? I've never seen one now you mention it.
  16. That went quick. Not surprised. Crackin' price. Crackin' tune. Is it rarer on Chess than Alteen? I think it might be?
  17. -marie knight - who rolled the stone (decca) Also on a UK Brunswick Ep
  18. Re: 9001 The Blue Nighthawks Orchestra - "Two people in love/I want to do it" I also have this as; 9001 The Blue Nighthawks Orchestra - "Two people in love/I want to flop" Anybody shed any light on this anomaly?
  19. What're yer like!!!
  20. Can anybody shed any light on the following; Mattie Jackson and the Blues Knighthawks Orchestra - I Want To Do It - Duplex 9001 Mattie Jackson and the Blues Knighthawks Orchestra - I Want To Flop - Duplex 9001 It's exactly the same record, with exactly the same B-side - Two People In Love - except for the different titles on the A-side.
  21. Sorry, I feel I should know this already BUT what's the difference between Bobbettes - Mr. Johnny Q on End and Bobbettes - Mr. Johnny Q on Gone?
  22. You're gonna be in for a treat when you hear this one; 22. In The End - Nancy Wilcox Awesome!!!
  23. Sounds like something off Blue Peter
  24. It was their second release on the label in 1962. Not much else to say about it really. Haven't heard it for a while. Must dig it out at the weekend for a reminder. As to value? Well, you used to see copies of it everywhere years ago but not so much now. Have you tried looking on Gemm to see if it's there and to get an idea of what other people might be selling it for?
