    All's I want is for somebody with a UK Oriole copy of the Contours Do You Love Me Lp to kindly record a track off said Lp and send it to me as an mp3 or wav file so I can compare it to my Motown 45. And yes, it's the Whole Lotta Woman track. I've heard of so many different versions of this title and want to decide for myself which is which, rather than blindly accepting what I've read on the subject, some of which having already been found to be incorrect.

    Not that I know of. I just want to hear this track from the Oriole Lp to make double sure it's the same as the track on the Gordy Lp. Nowt shady, just trying to be thorough.

    I don't think there is a straight forward answer to this, on the face of it, very simple question. There certainly isn't a straight forward "yes or no" answer. No, not if it hasn't been released here in the UK before. And yes, because it is likely to have been issued here in the UK some 40 years later due to the demand from the scene.

    But not very good at keeping your records in good condition. They caused a lot of damage to records as they were so heavy and cut into the grooves causing lots of hiss.

    Well, even though I bought my box set way back in November from Soulbrother Records in Putney. And even though, at first, I had 3 records jumping using my Soundburger and headphones, all is well when tested on my home Hi-Fi. All records present and correct and as flat as most of my record collection. So, I'm a happy bunny all round. :-)

    That's not entirely true. I have a couple of cracked records that play perfectly well. So they do have value, in as much as I can play them. Now, as to their monetary value, that's another matter. I guess it depends on the condition of the record and whether or not it plays without any problems or noticeable clicks. Mine are otherwise in excellent condition and play without any problems. As for their resale value if I were to try and sell them? Well, I'm never going to sell them so that solves that problem. So you see, buying cracked records isn't entirely 'crackers'

    Depends on how much the cracked copy cost I guess. If cheap enough, they'll just keep it if they can't sell it on. I've done the same with certain records that haven't been cracked but which have been in less than good shape. Again, it all depends on individual circumstances. But yeah, on the face of it, doesn't seem like a good idea buying a cracked record.

    Depends on the record, how rare it is, and whether or not it's playable. Will also depend on the buyer and how long they have waited to secure a copy, any copy, that will at least play. Obviously, they'd now have the record until a better condition copy turns up in the future. But yeah, couldn't do it myself.

    If anybody can sell me the UK release of this record, I'll sell my mint US Demo copy to recordlurv. But only in that order.

    A Timi Yuro IWNBOFM on UK Liberty was found at Spitafields about 5 years ago in mint condition c/w original company sleeve . . . . . . . £2. T'was very early, as soon as the stalls opened, on a Friday morning if memory serves me well?

    And I think I'm correct in saying that that one was up for sale / auction on eBay just a months or so ago. Don't know if it's still open?
