  1. The only copies I've seen of this, including my own , have always been in bad shape. Weird?
  2. It's also a district in Liverpool - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egremont%2C_Merseyside
  3. Even better.
  4. I'm from Liverpool Which makes me think of the Egremont label, a district within Liverpool.
  5. Then there's the Dorset label
  6. Great record. And as you say, has overtones of the 60s throughout. Plus Dennis of course.
  7. Is there an American record label called Cheltenham? Okay, didn't know that.
  8. Sorry Kegsy, bit tongue in cheek on these don't you think? Soultown (Bradford) Groove City (Bradford) Steeltown (Sheffield)
  9. Ha ha, could post. We'll all be getting our thinking caps on and Googling like mad over this one I'm sure.
  10. Which? The Oriole Lp or the Motown 45?
  11. All's I want is for somebody with a UK Oriole copy of the Contours Do You Love Me Lp to kindly record a track off said Lp and send it to me as an mp3 or wav file so I can compare it to my Motown 45. And yes, it's the Whole Lotta Woman track. I've heard of so many different versions of this title and want to decide for myself which is which, rather than blindly accepting what I've read on the subject, some of which having already been found to be incorrect.
  12. Nobody out there with the Oriole Lp?
  13. Not that I know of. I just want to hear this track from the Oriole Lp to make double sure it's the same as the track on the Gordy Lp. Nowt shady, just trying to be thorough.
  14. Please get in touch if you do. I'm not going to pester you to sell me it, unless you want to, I just need a recording of one of the tracks. Please PM me. Thanks.
  15. I don't think there is a straight forward answer to this, on the face of it, very simple question. There certainly isn't a straight forward "yes or no" answer. No, not if it hasn't been released here in the UK before. And yes, because it is likely to have been issued here in the UK some 40 years later due to the demand from the scene.
  16. Got my first copy of Willie J Charles at Val's in 2000 for $20 :-)
  17. Used to be a popular play around Southport back in the mid to late 70s. But can't think who actually played it?
  18. Don't say that Pete, you've just devalued my collection by at least £130.
  19. Thanks for that Ted. Very concise.
  20. Whatever happened to those "More Unreleased Invictus / Hot Wax" on You Tube? Can't seem to find them anymore?
