  1. Bugger me, that's a 1979 reissue? Looks like an authentic early London release, until you look closer at the credits etc. Still looks amazing though.

  7. I retracted that rather rash statement almost immediately, so I'd like a copy of that list too please Nick. :D
  8. To Premium Stuff and Mace: I know, I know, it was a rash statement, from the heart and not the head
  9. Nick hasn't even hinted at selling it yet, has he??? I know if it was me, I'd NEVER sell it. And I think I'd probably retire from collecting if I was the one to have found it. I mean, as a British label collector, what else would there be to keep me collecting???
  10. It's great innit Pete
  11. Thanks to everybody who bought from my little list above. More lists to follow.
  12. That's the other, more modern looking copy, which I referred to and am still trying to find out if it's a boot or a repress?
  13. Which one do you have Pete, Merrymount Music or Marrmount Music? I've no idea what it's worth, apart from checking on Popsike and CF. Not heard the other one? What's it like? Got a sound file? Seems it also came out on Nike.

  15. Without doing the research, I always thought that 45rpm 7" singles were made with big holes for the benefit of jukeboxes. So why do us record collectors keep finding 33rpm 7" singles with small holes? Also, I wonder why they cut a different, almost reggae styled version, of 'Sugar Dumpling' for the RCA Victor Lp 'Twistin The Night Away', which I have on one of those 33rpm 7" singles with a small hole, which inspired me to put the question out there. Hope I've got the right section of the forum for these questions. Apologies to moderators if I've not.
  16. I've got the issue and knew what an Alto Demo would look like, just that I hadn't actually seen a Little Betty as a Demo . . . . until now
  17. Never seen a Twistin School Demo before
  18. Fully agree. Had the place in stitches. Well done Brian & RIP Keith.
  19. That wasn't me was it Kev?
  20. Ron Honey and I will see you all at St.Helens Crem then the Griffin. RIP Keith.
  21. Hi Mick, I think that "pink" variation you refer to is possibly just a white one that has aged to look pinkish. I have one or two other white demos that have aged to a pinkish colour. Just a suggestion.
  22. My condolences to his family & friends from everybody in and around St.Helens that had the pleasure of knowing him. RIP Keith.
  23. So the black top silver bottom is the original release, not the other way round? I figured the all black copy was a later reissue. My black top silver bottom copy of Flat Footsam is a vocal, like the others, but where the others show Oscar Wills, mine does not, it shows Paul Gayten instead.
  24. Thanks Rob, that was very helpful. Any explanation for this bit of the enquiry? Nervous Boogie - Paul Gayten / Flat Footsam - Paul Gayten. ie Flat Footsam instead of Flatfoot Sam. And that it's credited to Paul Gayten and not Oscar Wills.
  25. I have this quite common record on Argo by Paul Gayten / Oscar Wills There are two label designs for Argo on a 45 that I'm aware of. One is a split label design, silver top and black bottom, with Argo written horizontally across the top in black, as follows; Nervous Boogie - Paul Gayten / Flatfoot Sam - Oscar Wills The other label design is all black with Argo written vertically to the left, also as follows; Nervous Boogie - Paul Gayten / Flatfoot Sam - Oscar Wills However, I have a label design that is a split label design, black top and silver bottom, with Argo written horizontally across the top in silver but this time as follows; Nervous Boogie - Paul Gayten / Flat Footsam - Paul Gayten Notice how Flatfoot Sam is spelt and the fact that it's by Paul Gayten and not Oscar Wills. Oh, and that the split label design colours are 'upside down'. Can anybody offer an explanation for the anomaly?
