  1. PLEASE, can somebody offer up a FULL soundbyte and a SCAN???
  2. Turn Out The Lights / Nicotine Scene - Kayham. Anybody got one for sale and what does it go for? Has anybody got a scan and a full soundbyte? Please!!!
  3. What, one went for £538 just recently on Manships Auction site? Or some other auction? Just want to see a scan of it. Seen the reissue thanks. Think I'll get it. Not into that £500+ kind of buying. Well, not imports anyhow. Why reissue it on Laurie? Why not Top Ten?
  4. What does it sell for? Got a scan?
  5. I've been collecting records on and off for over 35 years now (mostly UK releases) and I just love it when I stumble across a record for the first time, one that everybody else probably knows, but somehow, perhaps for some good reason, it has escaped my attention for absolutely donkies years. That record in question is 'Soul Sloopy' by the Dynamics, apparantly issued on Top Ten records and perhaps even Laurie, but that has yet to be confirmed so I've heard? My question is this. Is it a rare release on Top Ten or can I get it reasonably priced? Seems it probably IS rare on Laurie? Anyhow, anybody got a scan of it. I've got a soundbyte of it. All's I want now is a copy on Top Ten. But there I go you see. It's probably as rare as hens teeth or might even be just a £10 record, I just don't know. Either way it's a great record and I'm just happy for having 'discovered' it for myself. Brilliant.
  6. Hang on, have I got this right, this 'stompa' instrumental soundbyte you've posted, which is great by the way, was on the Tony & The Tonics UK Lp on Toast? (Is that the LP with a big red double decker bus on it?) Tony & The Tonics did versions of Darrell Banks 'Open The Door To Your Heart' and 'I Get The Feeling' on this same Lp, as well as this instrumental. Have I got that right now? My question about how this instrumental soundbyte was relevant to the thread was based on the fact that everybody was offering different versions of DB songs. This instrumental soundbyte surely wasn't a DB version, or at least wasn't a DB version instrumental? Right? Forgive me. It's getting late and I'm tired.
  7. Does anybody out there know if 'I Keep Wanting You' came out on a 45? If not, did it come out on an Lp, preferably a UK release like 'Cry Baby' or 'Warm & Soulful'? I'd check the Lp's myself but I'm not at home just now. Thanks in advance. Denbo.
  8. What IS this track called, heard it elsewhere a few times without ever finding out what it was, and off what album on UK (?) Toast is it from, apart from just Tony & The Tonics? Title of Lp? Toast label number? And not that it matters but what's this track got to do with the Darrell Banks 'Open The Door To Your Heart' thread?

  10. This guy's own stated shipping costs don't tally with the automated system that adds it to the winning bid on the 'Pay Now' system on eBay. To be honest, I was convinced that I saw shipping costs to UK at $4. But sometimes I've been known to see things that ain't there :o) Anyhow, when I saw the total, which included $13.45 p&p Airmail with no insurance, I checked his own stated shipping cost figures and found that $13.45 was for Lp's and 12 inchers and it should have been $10 for 45's. Still steep and I've told him so!!! Trying it on or what? Hoping the buyer wouldn't notice or couldn't be bothered to challenge it. I'm only buying this 45 for a pal and it's not in great shape but hopefully good enough but the point is I couldn't care less if the deal doesn't go through so it should be intersesting to see how he reacts to my challenge which has gone already. By the way, the winning bid was only $2.75
  11. Yeah, but you never get any 'bargains' off Dealers, do you? And, you very rarely find undiscovered, unheard of records off Dealers either. Part of the fun of dealing with 'Joe Public' on eBay is the excitement of buying 'on spec', records that look like they might be worth taking a chance on. Problem is, you get the occasional plonker who thinks packaging a styrene 45 is okay between two pieces of cornflake box cardboard cut out 'roughly' to size (and sometimes not big enough), then wrapped with extremely sticky American tape that can only be cut through to get at the 45 inside using a blow torch, to ruin all the fun. Oh well, can't win 'em all eh?
  12. Netspeaky, You say "Being buying for years only ever had 2 instances of badly packed record". Well lucky you!!! I too have been collecting for donkey's years and I ALWAYS ask that my records are well packed. And if I know it's a styrene 45 then I point that out and ask for extra special care. But, you guessed it, in one ear and out of the other!!!
  13. Woolie Mark, As far as I am aware, Registered or Recorded Delivery, are of no use if being used to send items of value abroad as the tracking system used to otherwise determine final delivery, ends at the shores of the UK. Pete Smith, According to eBay and PayPal, if the item when it arrives is not as described, then you have a valid claim. Did the seller display the following? See below; When you pay with PayPal for an item covered by PayPal Buyer Protection, you may receive coverage up to $1,000 at no additional cost. To see if an item is covered by PayPal Buyer Protection, look for the following in the "seller information" section of the seller's listing. 14. This is why some of us collect UK labels. Not exclusively, but whenever possible. Because you NEVER get this problem with UK labels. Some might get re-issued but NEVER booted.
  15. Yeah, I've noticed that a lot lately. Like you said, if you take the time to query it they'll drop their costs. Trouble is, you'll get the odd git who'll send a styrene 45 totally inadequately wrapped on purpose, hoping it will crack in transit, which of course it will. Grrrr.
  16. Couldn't agree with you more Pete. I have raised this point on more than one occasion but it continues. I just argue the case with each individual transaction and quite often get a polite and positive response . . . but not all the time :o( and have cancelled the odd order or two in retaliation. Having said that, I bet I don't deal on the Net as often as your good self. It helps to be calm and patient but even I get frustrated from time to time. Keep it up Pete, I'm certain it will pay dividends. These people need to realise they are nothing without us buyers!!!
  17. If anybody has a copy for sale please state condition and price by Private Message. Thanks.

I've got his list on me and I've sent him a fax with my email address but I've had nothing back from him yet. Perhaps he's not got an email address at the moment? I MAY come back to you regarding that 'phonecall offer' later on if you don't mind. I can supply his current telephone number. Might even be tomorrow. Will that be okay with you? Will you be 'lurking' on t'internet tomorrow? As for buying something from your Sales box, well, that's down to you. You'll have to drop your prices a fair bit. :o)

Bugger, it bounced back so it's out of date. But thanks for trying Ste, and you ARE very trying!!! Lol. :o) It's Dennis from Liverpool who occasionally nips down to Greatstones when it's on and it coincides with my trips home from Norway. Pal to the likes of John Kelly, Phil Saxe, Les Hare, Phil Scott, etc. Always attacking your Sales box. God only knows why, they're always too expensive for me but I enjoy listening to them in the back room. Not been down for a while, sorry about that but mis-timed trips home and family comes first are contributing factors. Has that put a picture to a name for you now? Or are you always too pissed by the time I get there for you to be able to focus properly? Lol. :o)

Thanks Ste, I have that already but I can't get an outside line here at the office over the weekend and as I'm in Norway, I don't want to be using my mobile, well not at £1 per minute anyhow!!! Do you KNOW who you're 'talking' to here Steve? :o)

. . . his CURRENT webpage address as www.ianclark.com don't work no more. Sorry moderators, I realise this is not a 'Wants' request for a record but it's still a 'Wants' request :o)
  23. Yeah, I thought that too. Having said that, it just went for almost $60 on eBay. Hmmm???
  24. So, consensus of opinion is . . . . . it's a boot? Right? See attachment.
