  1. :o) Nice one Nashie
  2. Nah, not released in UK, only ever seen it on US Coral.
  3. What kind of prices do things like this fetch? Do people collect them? They're quite heavy, being metal with vinyl sprayed over the top then the groove cut later. I think that's how they're made?
  4. Thought so but it says Maja in the latest RC Price Guide
  5. So, no great shakes then. Worth how much would you guess?
  6. First of all, is it Maja or Maya Fernik? Right, I have this 2 sided acetate on audiodisc, as follows; Kiki Dee - Love Is A Warm Kind Of Sorrow, backed with Maya Fernik - Give Me Your Love Now I can see that the Maya Fernik track got a release on UK Philips as Maja Fernik in 1972. Valued at £22 in the book but not sure if it's worth / sells for more with collectors? The Kiki Dee track does not appear to have a UK release, well not as a 45 according to the book. Can anybody say otherwise? Anyhow, why do you think these two tracks were cut back to back on audidisc? In fact, what can you folks tell me about audiodisc acetates, compared say to emidiscs? Are these two recordingsworth much individually? Did the Kiki Dee recording come out on an Lp if it wasn't released as a 45? What about US releases? In fact, I'd appreciate any information at all regarding these two individual recordings and this back to back acetate in particular. Thanks in advance.
  7. Come on, there's got to be a spare copy for sale somewhere out there?
  8. Dear Moderators, Might this be better transferred to Wants Forum? Can you please do that for me? Thanks.
  9. Ooooh, sorry to hear that.
  10. Ah, but do the DJs still have them? Might they now be all in the hands of collectors, who don't all necessarily DJ?
  11. Well? Somebody's gotta have a copy for sale? Oh, must be in excellent shape.
  12. No wet dreams I hope.
  13. If you mean by accident, all the time mate!!! Especially with me working away from home a lot, I can't always remember what I've got. Eg fairly recently, American Youth Choir UK Polydor, Betty Everett, I've Got A Claim On You, UK Sue, 3 copies . . . seriously. Think one might be a Demo? If by design then again, yes. For instance, Scott Bros - Stolen Angel - on Ribbon issue and Demo, local label called Dorset, and on the Canadian label Castle. Also came out on Cameo (or Parkway) but it's a different / inferior cut. Other occasions are when I get issues and Demos. Can never decide which one to keep? Eg Patrice Holloway, UK Capitol, Break Out, Mitch Ryder, Stateside, (as well as on Soul Sounds too). So, I keep both, especially if they're both in the same condition. It's a curse.
  14. Forgive my ignorance but where was this Tommy Bush played originally? Stafford I'll bet? Went to the first two with my pal Frank Jackson but I emigrated to Canada thereafter so, unfortunately for me, Stafford is a complete mystery to me, other than the memory of that huge pile of Okeh issues and Demos at between 50p and £2 each that me and Frank bought from a guy literally out of his brown leather suitcase the second night we attended.
  15. Issue or Demo, not particular. Anybody?
  16. Now Tower of Power I really like myself, even though it extends into a release year period on the limit of my record collecting period. The first two I've never even seen before. Take it the first one is a UK release and the Jaedes is Australian? That one looks really good. Love to hear it as well. Soundbyte? IT'S OKAY, I'VE FOUND ONE. NOWT ON THE LOLEATTA HOLLOWAY THOUGH. Sounds / looks like we could discuss this stuff for hours and days and weeks. But whose got time these days? Whereabouts do you live Sean? Where do you venture out? Any others?
  17. Hey Sean, take it you're a keen UK collector with a fair sprinkling of UK label obscurities? For those who might be interested, could you list a few of these by way of an example? It would be of great interest to me if nobody else.
  18. Nah, I've been awah heem since January but I'm looking to get back over there ASAP. As we speak in fact. Saw Steve at Lowton last month. I had to admit to remembering his face but not his name and from whence he came. Embarrased, so I was. But, he was very gracious about it, as always. I asked Steve to pass on my regards to you and everybody else in aberdeen that I know. PM me your email address again. Oh, God forbid, you never know, you might see me up in Aberdeen again, if my attempt to return to Norway falls flat on it's face. Has Jim still got his shop / club open / running? I'll see if I can get my mate to send a scan of his acetate for you.
  19. Is that Tubbs from Aberdeen? Sounds nothing like the King acetate a friend of mine's got. His is more officious looking, with properly printed test pressing type labels with typwriter typed text explaining title and artist, etc. Hope this helps, although I'm certain there are all kinds of different styles to King acetates. My description is just one of them I'll bet.
  20. Sorry, no I didn't read the posting by John May, or if I did, I don't remember reading about the maroon label designs being west coast. But thanks for the update. Having said that, my maroon label design is slightly different to that one shown on Dave Flemming's posting. But I mentioned that already didn't I? It's this damned cold, can't think straight.
  21. Thanks. Found the label scans off Dave Flemming of particular interest. The maroon scan I posted is different again to those he has posted. Strange? That last one of his on yellow Carla from 1973 looks contrived. Have a close look at the letters making up the word Carla. Looks like a cut and paste jobbie.
  22. This is going to be fun. I've never tried posting image attachments to my postings before and I've just used a host site to make my photographs a suitable size for posting on this site. So, here goes. https://img525.imageshack.us/img525/6140/cimg4917dx0.jpg https://img516.imageshack.us/img516/8760/cimg4915rp4.jpg Sorry for the quality of the images, that's me and my shakey hands whilst taking the snapshots. Anyhow, can somebody please explain to me why the different label designs?
  23. No, you ain't talking crap, I was thinking the exact same thing myself. But then people reckon I talk crap all the time. I think it's only 95% of the time. :o) But, Dave's idea ain't a bad one either.
  24. Anybody?
  25. Woolybakc??? Oh, you mean Woolyback Nah, I'm from Liverpool, I just live in St.Helens. But yes, and proud of it BTW, do you know the true story behind the expression Woolyback?
