I carried out the following ,dug out a sixties reo lable canadian Reflections . on one side was Bob in large red Felt tip ,on otherside another owners name in Biro [these would be sufficiently embedded with age ,unlike current write on wipe off ebay tests . Applied the following ; Toothpaste, Hairspray ,Spray Deoderant,Wd .40 .Alcohol.Bicarbonate of soda and NONE removed a smidgen of the writing!! You can google all these for application details .Also a product called Goof Off [As another member mentioned is available on Amazon] ihave not tried Goof ? As a collector I detest any lable markings and such immediatley devalue a record to Vg {see Goldmine , Discogs and RC} .Final conclusion ,any rubbing to a lable is likely to cause damage. !! Denise and danny Zieja,own Melodies ans Memories in Michigan with a stock /collection of 100,000 records, acquired the Franky in around 1988,realised its value in 2009, in 2017 decided to sell part of there collection, wife denise researched the discs history whereby Goldmine referred to it as $100,000 disc .Nashville matrix is quoted and record grade as 9 out of 10. The disc is currently held in a safe deposit box and potential purchases need to Fly to Detroit to view ,private sale or auction house are options for sale. Serious options ; the Denon range of dJ controllers are Brill and range from ninety Nine $ to 1,299 $ ,realy only necessary for high end mixing A.L.a Fat boy Slim, not Northern ,watching the audio lights kick in is an option ,but basic mixers do not seperate channel source. good used mixers say Numark Dm 3050 are allover the place at $50 as people contsantly upgrade ,but do check Specifications match your visual needs { owner manuals for most mixers ,can still be googled. Finally the D.J. equipment I usedat the Casino in the 70s was made [SAI of standish } and alongside the 2 Garrard SP 25 mk3 decks was alarge bright red sound activated light ,illuminating for cueing ,also the infamous phone handset . I have often pondered that a simple Sound activated LED could be cheaply installed for monetarily challenged, DJs!
