  1. Going of thread a bit, but 80's was my fav era too. Went to Stafford a couple of time's but mainly went to Bradford Queen's Hall, Hinkley and the best of all Cleethorpe's Winter garden's. Don't remember hearing Paul Sindab though, it wouldn't have been my type of track back in those day's.
  2. Hi Martyn, I first heard Paul Sindab on a sale's tape from the guy I mentioned in previous post's on the Dutch CNR label, but it had dol, and saw your copy on Ebay at the same time so bought your's. I Never heard it played at any venue's, only when my x was djing at our venue in York and the Manhatten club in Harrogate. Simsy's post mention's where it was played, but I've never been to either venue. Karen
  3. Thank's for that, I'll check Ebay first. If you read this Pete, you can send me detail's of Dvd.
  4. Hi Sabastian, Just played track 1 - City light's. Fantastic, perfect for the R & B room & what a voice she has. Who is she & what label? Haven't forgotten the Mike Pedicin, their still looking. Download somemore track's later, broadband fitted end of week, so they take forever at mo. Karen.
  5. Nothing else to it other than just love it. The label's fasinate me. The feeling of satisfaction I get when I find that record I've been looking for, and the challenge of searching for it on the rarest label, money permitting of course. The excitement waiting for it to arrive on your door mat! Never ending alway's something else you want! I especially love looking for and collecting foreign label's and if it's from a country you wouldn't expect that's even better. Very frustrating hobbie though, as you can't alway's afford what you want. May collecting alway's continue. Karen.
  6. GWEN OWENS - Wanted & Needed ...does it for me!
  7. Hi Martyn, nice to hear from you, what were the chance's of you reading this thread, small world! Sorry had to sell it on, personal circumstance's 'n' all that!!!! A dozen copies!!! £3600? no, best not do the sum's....
  8. Me too a year or so ago and reported to paypal. Obviously still at it. A mate of mine actually lost money  so be careful.
  9. Only got a few second's at a time, but sounded like a man's voice to me. Can't wait till next week get broadband installed again, then hopefully won't have this problem with download's. Will try again tonite!.
  10. Took 15 min's to download and kept cutting out, only heard snippet's, what I did manage to hear sounded 80's but not keen on man's voice. Will try again tonite! Karen.
  11. Your memory is obviously still working ok, the Belguim copy is on Cardinal. Not heard from the guy I mentioned in earlier post re: Dutch copy, I'll email him again tomorrow. Maybe i'll turn out to have suffered severe memory loss, and the Dutch copy will be Belguim, same colour blue! and there is of course a C, N & R in Cardinal.
  12. I have just remembered ( my brain's a bit slow, must be my age!), but several year's ago I was offered a copy of Paul Sindab - I was a fool, on a dutch CNR, I saw a label scan and I'm sure it was blue. I have emailed him to see if he still has it (must have gone by now), as he was trying for sometime to sell it and no one wanted it. Hopefully he still has scan in his gallary and have asked him to send me it, and will post it on here if he does. Karen
  13. Hi Steve, thank's for the tip. Think we got this sorted, you have the Knox issue ( take it you don't have a sticker mark on your's), and mine was a Knox issue, they turned into a Powertree demo using a sticker, probably to save money before they issued on Powertree. Don't think the sticker should have been removed though as it made it more interesting left as they intended it to be. Just checked with Pat and the sticker had already been removed before he got it. Karen
  14. No not sure look's as if it could be. Sold it to private collector he paid £300. He would have to have sold it straight away to be the one, but obviously at a loss. Can't check date exact as he paid cash. The sticker on mine overlapped in the centre, just like the one on popsike!.
  15. Very nice. Amazing what foreign label's you can collect, had a few unusual one's from place's you would not expect including Labanon A.B.C. Don't alway's have to pay load's, a lot of collector's seem to prefer usa or uk. Karen.
  16. Simsy, thank god you posted this before I logged out. Went to Popsike as above and saw the PT demo with write up Quote: Jm had never seen one only heard of it being out there, thought to be world one off in house demo. Firstly sat and cried and secondly was on my to kill my ex husband, who is the reason why 9 month's ago my beloved record's had to go, and now have to start over! Well that's life at least I got rid of the Bast..d . Never had the gut's to lift the sticker though! Karen
  17. Yes it was. I was lucky enough to own a Powertree Dj, instead of it having Powertree across the top, the Dj just had a sticker with Powertree stamped on it. Bought it from Ebay the guy who was selling it, found it in a second hand shop in Usa in 1980. Would be interested to know if anyone else has a copy or seen one. Sorry can't help with the knox info. Karen
  18. Sold one last year with water damaged label for £250. Karen.
  19. Thought this would make a light hearted thread to finish off the year! What record's do you long to add to your collection the most? Realistically or unrealistically, doesn't matter. I'll start off with a couple of mine. Jesse Fisher - You're not loving a beginner - Way out. The Visitor's - I'm in danger - Bashie. And Butch if your feeling generous! Milton Jame's - My lonely feeling - Dore.( I did say unrealistically). Have a great nite what ever your doing, Happy New Year to everyone. Karen.
  20. Several year's ago I felt unhappy when bidding in one of John's auction's. Instead of mouthing off about it to other's trying to cause trouble, I went direct to John and told him what I felt and we sorted it out there and then. We were both happy the miss-understanding was cleared up. The mature way in which to deal with thing's. I would suggest to the Rambler that either he/she does the same or at least stop hiding behind a fictitious name. In my opinion you should not be allowed to post without your true identity being known. This is a Man's Business you are messing with. Don't be a coward, have the gut's to at least put your name to the post's you write. Karen
  21. Gene Chandler - There was a time. Brilliant to dance too ( or used to think so!). Washed Ashore -The platter's. Played this when back from niter's on drop down record player. Memories! Roger K - Give me the love. Fantastic record. Ronnie Forte - That was whiskey talkin. Awesome! Happy New Year Karen.
  22. 4 for me. Alfie Davidson - Love is a serious business (12") , Danced none stop to this, bought it played it to death, fraid I hate's it now. Major Lance - You don't want me no more - Canadian Epic. Liked it year's ago, love foreign stuff, once bought realised the appeal was foreign rather than the actual record. ( I know most like it)! Mike Pedicin - Burn't toast & black coffee - Federal. Thought a bit different quite liked, once bought & played a bit thought it was sh.t! Paul Sindab - I was a fool - Powertree dj. Adored this record, bought it and loved it. For personal reason's now hate it, shall we just say, sadly it became my signature tune!! Karen.
  23. Enjoyed the show Mark, finished xmas day off nicely. Have a great nite tomorrow where ever your going, I'll be at Manchester. Have a great new year. Karen.
  24. Brilliant idea Joan - why didn't I think of that! Wishing everyone on soul source a very Happy Christmas and a fantastic New Year. All the best for 2006. Karen
  25. To me it is a way of life, a part of me that can not be taken away. The people ( for a lot of us it's like a second family), expressing your feeling's for the music through dancing. The enthusiam of Dj's and collector's alike, who continue to search out and bring forward new and forgotten sound's, even after all these year's. In the early hour's of the morning, your favorite record fill's the hall, on the dance floor you lose yourself, unaware of anyone around you, lost in your own world. I alway's feel if I never do anything else in this life, I'm grateful I found N.S. Ok a bit heavy and deep for first thing the morning, but hey you did ask! Karen.
