  1. Thought this would make a light hearted thread to finish off the year!

What record's do you long to add to your collection the most? Realistically or unrealistically, doesn't matter.

I'll start off with a couple of mine.

    Jesse Fisher - You're not loving a beginner - Way out. The Visitor's - I'm in danger - Bashie.

And Butch if your feeling generous! Milton Jame's - My lonely feeling - Dore.( I did say unrealistically).

Have a great nite what ever your doing, Happy New Year to everyone. whistling.gif

    Karen.

  2. Several year's ago I felt unhappy when bidding in one of John's auction's. Instead of mouthing off about it to other's trying to cause trouble, I went direct to John and told him what I felt and we sorted it out there and then. We were both happy the miss-understanding was cleared up.

The mature way in which to deal with thing's.

I would suggest to the Rambler that either he/she does the same or at least stop hiding behind a fictitious name. In my opinion you should not be allowed to post without your true identity being known.

This is a Man's Business you are messing with.

Don't be a coward, have the gut's to at least put your name to the post's you write.

  3. Gene Chandler - There was a time. Brilliant to dance too ( or used to think so!).

Washed Ashore -The platter's. Played this when back from niter's on drop down record player. Memories!

Roger K - Give me the love. Fantastic record. Ronnie Forte - That was whiskey talkin. Awesome!

    Happy New Year

    Karen.

  4. 4 for me.

Alfie Davidson - Love is a serious business (12") , Danced none stop to this, bought it played it to death, fraid I hate's it now.

Major Lance - You don't want me no more - Canadian Epic. Liked it year's ago, love foreign stuff, once bought realised the appeal was foreign rather than the actual record. ( I know most like it)!

Mike Pedicin - Burn't toast & black coffee - Federal. Thought a bit different quite liked, once bought & played a bit thought it was sh.t!

Paul Sindab - I was a fool - Powertree dj. Adored this record, bought it and loved it. For personal reason's now hate it, shall we just say, sadly it became my signature tune!!

  5. To me it is a way of life, a part of me that can not be taken away. The people ( for a lot of us it's like a second family), expressing your feeling's for the music through dancing.

The enthusiam of Dj's and collector's alike, who continue to search out and bring forward new and forgotten sound's, even after all these year's.

In the early hour's of the morning, your favorite record fill's the hall, on the dance floor you lose yourself, unaware of anyone around you, lost in your own world.

I alway's feel if I never do anything else in this life, I'm grateful I found N.S.

Ok a bit heavy and deep for first thing the morning, but hey you did ask!

    Karen.

  6. Hi Chalky, i half taped it, then somehow forgot to press record for last half hour  , have been in touch with Mark and asked if he could send the master recordings of the show onto me. (if so i'll send you a copy, unless someone else has it)

Ps Mac,Karen, think your right about the Jesse Fisher....It'll be my bloody awful Northern accent thats thrown you Karen.

Not your accent Brett, think it's my hearing, getting old now! Jesse Fisher is the one.

    Thank's Soulmac for your help.

    Karen.

  7. bollocks, plagerism? You only have to read it fully to appreciate that I was quoting from somewhere else and the words were not my own. It wasn't palgerism because I fully linked where it came from.

    Up yours!

    Edit:

You know, a lot of you here are so rude about others that truely love this music. We might not have thousands of pounds of records like you but equally love it just the same. It's those that are so rude that push others away!

A lot of you make me fucking sick to my back teeth!karen_bridges12.gif

I truely love this music, don't have thousand's of pound's of record, but fully appreciate black vinyl, label's and cost oh and refuse to own pressing's!. Label's and cost are all a part of the scene and who said"if you don't collect your not worthy"?.

Quote: This scene will die soon if everyone keep's up this pretence that northern soul is about a small black piece of vinyl/acetate!

How would n.soul exist today without that black vinyl?

What keep's the scene going and not dying after all these year's is that little piece of Black Vinyl Dj's up and down the country play week in, week out.!!

  8. I'm sure the guests would have no problem with the CD idea, time is my problem at present with other commitments but a good idea which may be possible down the line.

    Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Mark, listened to your show last sunday with guest Chalky for the first time, really enjoyed it. Will definately tune in every sunday from now on. Great idea about the CD, hope you can find the time.
