  1. The first £1000 record was Robby Lawson Burning Sensation bought by Pat Brady.
  2. Could be that i have got my wires crossed,i thought i had seen it mentioned in a news paper when he was being interviewed.
  3. The reason Craig Charles should Not interview people from the scene is that he once accused the scene of being racist.
  4. Totaly agree Dave, thats why i compared it with Ann Perry. When i got my Ann Perry in the early 80s some people thought they were boots,my copy had never been out of its sleeve since the day it was pressed and the vinyl was covered in wax oil which was very common in the 60s of which i pointed this out to the doubters. As you say, knowledge is paramount.
  5. This is defo original,if it's stamped there is no doubt, just like the Anne Perry.
  6. I have been saying that for a long time.
  7. They were my thoughts too Trev,it has all the hall marks of a jamaican press.
  8. What is the going rate for this in top condition please?
  9. Big Maybelle followed by Maxine Brown.
  10. His name is Tom Creedon,to my knowledge he collected everything from Detroit, not just soul but pop garage etc.
  11. My thoughts exactly,he just down loads stuff from the net.I doubt he owns anything.
  12. I would go for a vinyl over styrene press every time, the sound quality always seems to be better.A typical example is The Mighty Lovers -Mighty Lover as appose to The Ideals.
  13. The lead singer sounds like the lead singer of the Dramatics who sang Toy Soldier.
  14. Looking for the above on first press 3 stars design.Must be mint or mint - PM if you can help. Thanks. Chris.

  15. The above for sale in ex+ condition £85 PM if interested. Chris.
  16. Yes it does have an edge warp along with a coffee stain, how ever i don't know how these happend.
  17. I have also read several articles Karl where Carol Kay has exaggerated on the truth.
  18. Motown by name but not the typical Motown sound, nothing like what was being recorded in detroit by the Funk Brothers. The strings arrangement sounds more like what Fred Smith would have done at Keyman/Mirwood than what Paul Riser would have done with members of the DSO. This is very much a west coast recording.
  19. The above for sale £100 Pm if interested. Cheers. Chris.
  20. Nice one, first time i have ever seen a promo copy.Your theory now makes more sense and it being a case of poor sales rather than being withdrawn.
  21. I personally think that this was withdrawn very shortley after being released in the same way Eddie Holland -You deserve what you got was,i have always wondered why no promo copies exist of the Kim Weston recording.
  22. The above for sale £150. Pm if interested. Chris.
  23. The above for sale in mint-condition.Not sure what this goes for these days. PM me if interested. Cheers. Chris.
  24. Sometimes i wonder why what prices John gets on his auction site is even talked about. We all know that if someone put the self same records on here in the same condition they would not sell for any thing like his prices.
