Hi Andy,it's in my top ten of all time and I've only just found this out.I suppose it's not particularly an article as such, but if you look under Edwin Starr I have faith in you and play it,George says it was him who wrote and produced it. The stuff he was behind is endless. Chris.
While trawling through the net,I came across an article from 2 years ago where George Kerr claims to have wrote and produced Edwin Starrs-i have faith in you.Is this so,as he is not credited in any way on the label.?
Steve Manchas- Your still in my heart is the first release on groovesville. It is also to my knowledge the only one that was distributed by Golden world,I wonder if Golden world also had the rights to this record. If so then when Motown bought Golden World and RIC Tic they would have the rights to record it by another artist.Hence came about David Ruffins version. Chris.
On the night that I met Dave we talked in length about how he helped bring Motown to the UK,his first meeting with Marvin Gaye and the other Motown acts.It was mind blowing.
Totally agree mate.I was fortunate to meet and have a lengthy conversation with him a good few years ago at the Harlem Shuffle night at Clifton hall in Rotherham. He was guest of honour that night.
Just been watching the ready steady go coverage for the umpteenth time of Kim Weston singing a little more love with Dave Godin in the back ground under the staircase and thinking just how much he pioneered our music in the early days.
