  1. I can't hide it and its better to cry have always taken pride of place in my collection,it is a very interesting article. However it is definatley Mike Terry playing baritone sax on i can't hide it and not Willie Mitchell. Chris.
  2. Thanks for your replies,i had always had my doubts about these two sides being true pied piper. Cheers. Chris.
  3. For me this is one of the greatest double siders of all time.As we know this is a pied piper production that was recorded in cleveland ohio in late 66 and released in jan 67.I have always associated pied piper with either Detroit or in some circumstances Chicago.I know the ojays were from ohio,is this the reason why these were recorded there. Cheers. Chris.
  4. As far as its rareity is concerned,i have to agree with you. I have seen more black stock copies for sale than you can shake a stick at. Chris.
  5. When you look back at the importance Joe Hunter had from the early days of the Joe Hunter Band,Motown and then after, his legacy on both R+B and jazz was amazing. Chris.
  6. Yes mate, its a pity it isnt longer, but then again he left Motown in 63 so i guess there isnt that much he could have talked about.I think an interview with him about after he left Motown would have been amazing, but since he passed away in 2007 im afraid thats not going to happen. Chris.
  7. Ive just stumbled across an interview with Joe Hunter on youtube. Its only short, but well worth watching. Chris.
  8. Not sure about s www symbol, but the original 60s first press has the Large Archer stamp as apposed to the small archer on the 70s reissue. This has always been the case. The original first press by the way is quite tough to obtain. Chris.

  13. Personaly i think Barbara recorded the song first,Ed wingate didn't like the song and as chalky said it was proberly not registerd with BMI hence there was no publishing on it,unlike My Dear Heart which when it was released by Shawn Robinson was credited to Myto Music. Chris.
  14. If George bought the track from Ed Wingate, then surley it must be Myto Music rather than Groovesville. Chris.
  15. I noticed that this sold on Tim Browns auction site yesterday for £3450.Has somebody paid over the odds or is it now the going rate? Chris.
  16. Totaly agree with you Chalky, the great days of Stafford are long gone.I'm just so glad i was part of that era. Chris.
  17. To me this is quite simply another way of Lee promoting himself and his business along with John at the same time. In the same way Kenny will always be remembered for paying 15k for it,rather than for his knowledge on soul music. Chris.
