Hi Mark Jones from Shrews here, I put the do's on at Lord Hill on occasion, haven't seen Anne for a bit but still kicking about so her sister tells me, apparently it's her 50th soon (oops is it rude to give a lady's age away these days) she's apparently have a party at madeley court...I'm still waiting for the invite! Still see Phil Taylor at the occasional do I go to.

Just want a couple of cheap plastic record middles. The type that sit on the deck rather than the speider in record type. There's some brass one ons ebay but I'm b*ggered if I'm paying £9 for one! Any ideas? Sorry if a bit off topic!

I vaguley remember a track from '85 that Keb used to play at Stafford around 85 around the same time he was playing Anthony and the Aqualads. It began: "Got to be a reason......why you wanna make me blue.....got be a reason.....why you do the things you do......" Would really like to know what it is as remember it being a great track....any ideas from this vague description? It was 22 years ago so bear with me!

Bout time we had an orig or boot forum I reckon! Be a great knowledge base for future reference too. What ya reckon mods? (and i don't mean the ones with scooters and parkers! ) Reminds me I got a Sitting in my Class somewhere I need to check on...sure I got it in a John Anderson Soul Bowl pack in 1982 so hoping it's real! Well my Yvonne Baker was at least...rememeber being p*ssed off cos it had gone up from £11 to £14 for a 100 soul records...oh happy days!

Just one word for me "Stafford" Record just summed up the era.

Bloody ridiculous would be mine...are we becoming train spotters? Seems a bit sad to me....along with 50 year old blokes wearing tank tops and flares...always gets my back up for some reason. Think I'll stick with the vinyl myself. Then again I might get my old allnighter bag out of the attic and put it on ebay as I wouldn't be seen dead at 42 carrying it anymore......25 year old badges on it or not!

as my original post said mine isn't checkered just totally black and shiny...almost like a mirror! Not touched by the press at all.

Got this about 20 years ago on my very first trip to U.S (at the humble age of 23)....nothing spectacular..just a very worn copy (well label is but vinyl ok) of The "Sapphires - Who do you Love" Swan 4162 Demo from 1964. But the unusual thing about it is the back is a totally blank white label and even weirder devoid of any grooves....just shiny plastic!! When really I thought I would see a b side of "Oh So Soon" Not interested in value just more curious really, has anyone else got one or can anyone tell me a little about why it's single sided? Early release to Radio stations maybe? Been meaning to ask since I got it back in 1986!
