  1. Ok here's the Demo and Issues we talked about. Always loved the design of the demo...had mine for about 18 years now...and wasn't cheap even then! What does the other one look like?
  2. Just emailed Mr Clark so hopefully have a definitive answer soon! Have given him the link to this post so he'll either post here or let me know in email and I'll post his findings.
  3. ooohhh...look at the binary code and variable bit rate on this little beauty.....mmmm no not quite the same!
  4. Hi Paul and Happy New Year mate! I did put a post on about this record a while back /index.p...&hl=daniels Ian Clark spotted it and sent me an email which I'm sure he won't mind me quoting: "hi thanks for the mention on this on soul source..it is rareand was booted by soussan..where is he nowi still have my orig copybest wishes ian clark" I still want a copy!!!
  5. Bless u mate....alot of us oldies would disrepect that. But you have a great oppurtunity to get to enjoy soul music head of u...enjoy! Then again my recommendation would be to not buy records because as well as costing me hundreds of pounds has cost me relationships too so beware!!
  6. For once in my life I'm speechless...no one adjective can sum up this man's brilliance.
  7. I beleive that the whole darn world is going crazy!...sorry it's my dry humour!
  8. Do adore this track...still needs more airplay IMHO. Mate of mine the late Steve Plimmer in Shrewsbury introduced me to it in the mid 80's....only just got a copy at long last myself...incidentally off you Dave! Be very interested to hear the vocal intro version...any sound bites?
  9. Never really saw the point in this. It's like comparing savoury with sweet. Like 'em both but oh so very different! Both great in their very different ways! But I'm a soul fan so the vote obviously goes with the legendry song writer. Smokey's a legend and Dusty was just wonderful! I can't choose between chocolate and crisps ffs!
  10. Just sent you a pm Ray. Ann's sent me her email address. Enjoy catching up!
  11. 2 days left and still only£29.99..bargain!

  14. reduced...now £20 and free postage..How good am I! lol
  15. My fave request I had and I quote " Can you play some motown like Billy Ocean Love Really Hurts without you"
  16. This must have been my biggest bargain ever....bought mine at TOTW Stafford in about '86 (I think!) for £3!!! Was a serious bargain even at '86 prices!
  17. Continental Four - Way I love you Jay Walking 009 Mint! Here's the soul club link Mine plays mint unlike the one on soul club! Free postage...hurry whilst I'm feeling generous lol Paypal is fine
  18. ****SOLD**** Realised I had two copies and thought she deserved an appreciative new home. Label in good nick too ...very slight wear only. Paypal is fine and I'll foot the 4% Free postage too...how good am I! Here's the soulclub link to hear the track https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Betty_Moorer_-_Speed_Up.ram
  19. I seem to remember reading in an old 70's Blues and Soul (which I obviously borrowed being so young lol) I think about a massive warehoue fire in the 60's which virtually wiped out all off the 60's soul output from the Washington area. Apparently master tapes and vinyl were burnt to a cinder for ever, maybe this explains the little input over the years from the Washington DC area? Anyone got any info?
  20. oh so Stafford...absoloutely awesome track!..as were most at the venue! My wish...every record ever played at TOTW..lol...oh well I can dream! (bit of a greedy wish I know!) But my collection does have a decidely Stafford look to it these days!
  21. Nope not TOTW Chris or Oddfellows..but my two favourite venues of the 80's those two as well the bear knows!! Well actually was it Oddfellows..now I'm having doubts! lol nah pretty sure it wasn't..it was actually on the door of the this popular venue as you went in.
  22. I obtained (or rather stole ) this bit of cardboard (yes I still have it how sad..even sadder still I just spent time photographing it!) on the last night of a certain venue. Mystery prize for the winner (so much of a mystery I don't know what it is yet! ) OK...guesses or otherwise please! ...only one guess allowed each otherwise you'll get there by a matter of elimination...no cheating please! Might sound daft but it was quite prominent at the entrance and always stuck in my mind as it was a bright colour....think that's why I "liberated" it as it very much reminded me of the said venue.
  23. Paid £130 for mine and that was in 1989 when Steve Whittle was giving it the rounds again. So quite reasonable I reckon for the price quoted. Mine has L Allen on the label as have most copies, am I correct in saying that there is a rarer copy with Larry Allen written on it?
  24. I'm sure all of those of you remember who were there, what a wonderful unforgettable night that was, but I really need to see these guys again before Junior and the boys are too old and can't do it anymore. No offence but this is a point of fact, if we want to see our hero's it's gotta be now or never!! Did email the Dells' agent a while back and got a prompt response saying they are still regularly touring in the States and a certain Mr Searling was in contact and was possibly arranging something in the UK. But that was early in 2006 and still nothing. I really need to know if they have any plans to tour here, otherwise I'm off to the States to see them. Eight years later...I just have to see them one more time and then can die happy! Guys.....either get on a plane with me or start a petition to get them here...in fact thinking of remortaging the house to arrange it myself. Look...it's about seeing The Dells...sad but true the likes of them don't exist anymore...this really is our last change to see the best ever male soul group (open for debate I know but well up there) of all time. Yes a bit tipsy whilst typing this but it just exaggerates the passion of what i feel about seeing the Dells again. Old cliche but but you will never see a male group of artists of the same quality ever and we really need to get this sorted soon. Ok...I've done my preaching...time for equally passionate replies pease!! Mark
