Yet again MORE embarrassing exposure on national tv. All I'm gonna say is after all those years after that final nite which I did actually attend (but glad not photographed)id just like to say the person behind this site requires a big thanks for keeping a real soul scene going after the supposed end of rare soul.and the likes of soultown (middleton) new century (various venues)Springfield. Rugby (Benn hall) 100 club .Notts boat club (and I'm sure new venue RAFA club)and other venues that look to the future (rather than sweat bands beer towels and baggy pants)there what the future is really about.had we relied on Mr winstanley to brings things until today it would never have happened !!at Wigan SOUL SAM got it rite.look at today Butch.andy Dyson .Ady croasdell. Mick H.carl fortnum.colin law.etc bringing quality to the table all those years on.so keep your tv shows.the above venues djs and this site will keep the rare soul scene going not crap inaccurate nostalgia.oh don t forget tomorrow nite "totally wired radio"with true legends Tony smith&Guy Hennigan who trust me the scene today has a lot to thank for his co tribution.oh thanks Mike keep up the good work

I can't believe it ! CHALKY harsh ! Nah just truthful. And i take it those concern in defending these outfits,wear them day in day out NO ! But everyone to their own opinion. MY OPINION. stafford in the 80's.guest dj Ady croasdell .up come the London Crewe dressed in smart classy clothing (not baggy pants etc.)with it they brought shear quality to the venue.as did the Scotland bus with Colin law, the walls brothers etc.the music had moved on.it was pure class.then after many years I ventured out locally. Met with baggy pants and trash.then I attend some of the venues previously mentioned.to find no baggy pants beer towels badges etc.but pure quality from the likes of Butch.soul Sam.andy Dyson .Mick h.roger banks.etc etc. So I think class & quality springs to mind. I rest my case..

CHALKY I AGREE 101% I'm just glad that someone who is respected on this site is able to tell the truth.when I have had my veiws I end up offending people and end up with a public warning when really I didn't mean any harm.i wanna go out now and again and mix with suitably dressed people listening to pure quality.expanding my enjoyment for the music which the likes of Bury town hall ,Rugby , Springfields ,Notts boat club ,Mansfield (shirebrook) Leeds (wardrobe) 100 club ,Grumpy soul .etc bring to the table.

All can be said excellent dj spots at 100 club & not forgetting TOP OF THE WORLD Stafford . Jst a genuine compliment to Dave Thorley .I can't think of a bad dj that was ever booked at TOTW.without exception .& for those unlucky enough to have not attended.take it from me !!! Had Dave not had the vision back then with the quality of music played then the scene today would not be as it is today !!!
