It's tradition to have a big party for 18th, 21st, 40th, 50th, 60th and 65th isn't it?
Actually disregard that, they've abolished all traditions in this country...
I love his encounters with the musician Sax Kari, seemed like a great character!
Interesting to read about the Natchez fire disaster too as immortalised in song by Howling Wolf and others.
Prince Buster owns all his own stuff and his productions on other artists. He only lets out a few tunes here and there, usually to the Japanese Rock A Shacka/Drum and Bass label.
He really needs to do a deal with a big label for a box set or a series of albums while he's still with us.
I went to the Cavern Pub last year and it's a decent little bar but it was more like a Beatles bar with Fab Four pictures on the walls. Didn't hear any soul.
I know Mike will probably delete my comment above but just thought I'd let people know that there are folk out there who believe in one rule for themselves and one for others.
The same guy rants on here about strange stuff and used to be a friend and deleted me on Facebook because he said I was "unhinged" due to having depression.
Those in glass houses and all that....
Aretha Franklin "I've Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You". It all kicked off at the time with the guys at FAME and her then husband Ted White and I bet she was a bit pissed off with it all when recording that session.
The bit in the long version of the Dells' classic "Stay In My Corner" where the late great Marvin Junior stretches out the word "baby" for an eternity.
Some R&B IS verging on rock n roll I agree but I love it all and would rather hear it than some overplayed pop shite like Nine Times Out Of Ten etc. Just listen/dance to what you like and don't stress it.
