Wouldn't have thought it was particularly rare at all. Last saw it listed for £25 by JM. Bought it as a new release and upgraded to a demo at some stage. The issue is probably still up in the loft!

Pat Brady auctioned one and got £143 for it.

The Syreeta 45 was never actually issued and is reasonably hard to acquire - but still not worth £221 for the lot IMHO

Drill holes etc mentioned above were the sign of "deletion" to prevent returns to distributors being returned again for full price credit. Import duty has always been charged on cost of said imports and so cheap deletions would attract less import duty than fresh pressings.

Came with it's own Posse Janus sleeve also.

I don't think that's the case Dave. You only get charged VAT on the postage if the value of the goods is over £15. Booksand mags are VAT free so not a problem.

Isn't it just! I remember playing it at the Smersh bar a few years ago to many admiring glances but nobody knew it at the time. Anyone know anymore about the record? Are there mainlt just double sided demos of the other side? Hard to find or just rare for some reason? Appreciate anyone's thoughts.

1 every 3-6 months for me, but will have done 2 this year after lifeline and still in Feb!

I think the single was rushed out to cash in on Marvin's album and probably nothing else new was available. The UK 45 has Amen and Keep on pushing on the flip. I've had a search running on Ebay for yonks to upgrade my copy but am still waiting.....It failed to chart (R&Bwise) in the US which is unusual for an Impressions 45 so would guess that Marvin's version swamped it when it was issued.

And for some reason not easy to find in good condition.....

I have a M- demo £17 inc postage in the UK.

I think the UK limit is £15. Above that you get charged VAT (Inc on the postage) at 20% and above about £120 import duty, oh and £8 for the pleasure of being charged. I buy quite a lot of books from the States and luckily don't get this hassle as they're VAT free.

Paypal definitely had a problem earlier today with payment failed messages even though the payment had been made. Only found out because an honest seller refunded me. Phoned Paypal and berated their compliance and regulation dept for not informing their customers of the problem The FSA should look into this.
