  2. Official re-release of Frankie Staton & Speckled Rainbow's very rare soul 45 'Love One Another' and 'Bi-Centennial - 1976' on Tramp Records Having been featured on Tramp's recent 'Can You Feel It' compilation album, Frankie Staton's debut release is highly sought after in Soul and Funk 45 collectors circles. https://tramp.kudosrecords.co.uk/release/tr327/frankie-staton-bi-centennial-1976-feat-speckled-rainbow A second re-release I would like to recommend is by William Cummings. 'Make My Love A Hurting Thing' does not need an introduction, the same goes for the flip side 'Your Soul Searchin' Love ', an equally rare deepfunk track. Not many can claim to own original copies of these two 45s since they are very hard to come by. Therefore many DJs, collectors, and music lovers will certainly be made happy with this long overdue re-issue. https://tramp.kudosrecords.co.uk/release/tr329/william-cummings-your-soul-searchin-love Added by Site
  3. Official re-release of James Kelly Duhon's very rare soul sides "So Trusting" and "So Far Down" on Tramp Records Having been featured on Tramp's recent "Praise Poems" and „Can You Feel It“ compilation albums, James Kelly Duhon's 45RPM single release "So Trusting" is highly sought after in Soul 45 collectors circles. Not many can claim to own it since it is very hard to come by. Therefore many DJs, collectors, and music lovers will certainly be made happy with this long overdue re-issue. https://tramp.kudosrecords.co.uk/release/tr273/james-kelly-duhon-so-trusting A second re-release I would like to recommend is by Jimmy Preacher Ellis. "Since I Fell For You" is his very first recording, released in 1963 on the local Cross Road label out of Seattle, Washington. On the flip you'll find "Hard Times", an equally rare funky soul track. Certainly an interesting re-issue of two lesser known tracks by the Dallas born blues guitarist. https://tramp.kudosrecords.co.uk/release/tr290/jimmy-preacher-ellis-since-i-fell-for-you

  5. Official re-release of Hank Hodge's very rare soul 45 rpm single "One Way Love" / "Thank You Girl" on Tramp Records Having been featured on Tramp's recent "Countdown To...Soul" compilation album, Hank Hodge's sole 45RPM single release ("One Way Love" b/w "Thank You Girl") is highly sought after in Soul 45 collectors circles. Not many can claim to own it since it is very hard to come by. Therefore many DJs, collectors, and music lovers will certainly be made happy with this long overdue re-issue. https://www.kudosrecords.co.uk/release/tr254/hank-hodge-one-way-love.html added by site

  8. Available now on double-gatefold LP+7", CD and digital download SALES NOTES: **INITIAL 400 LPs CONTAIN A BONUS 7" BY MEL-O-MADNEZZ** IT'S TIME TO PAAAARTY! Why? The Universe knows that Tramp is celebrating their 40th trip around the sun in 2018. And what about planet Earth? Well… it is as blind as it is in so many other situations. Therefore, it is time to shine the light on Tramp for all of its unremitting efforts. As musical diversity is vanishing, especially in the field of African American music from the 1960s/70s, it is our duty to stop the extinction of threatened species of music in the same way an animal welfare activist would do anything to save a gorilla's life. Tramp Records keeps this beautiful heritage alive, every single day, again and again and again. So we are here wondering why Earth people and especially to those from our beloved home country; why? why are you just sitting there, going about your life unaware of this historic event? What a pity! The announcement is especially striking when it comes to the prestigious "Movements" series. Like all its predecessors, this ninth volume contains Rare Groove nuggets recorded between the early 1960s and the late 1970s. The fact that only one of the songs appear anywhere else is a jaw-dropping phenomenon! The chronological track listing starts with an amazing cover version: "Fever" by Gee Gee Shinn & the Boogie Kings. Bus Brown, Earl Demus and Chuck Finney remain in the same direction although their contributions are slightly jazzier. Chick Willis' gut-wrenching "Sometime Soon" easily rivals James Brown's "It's A Man's World" and the recordings by Australia and J.R. are beautiful examples of privately produced soul from the 1970s. The latin-soul of "Cho Cho San" by Hummingbird 4 heads the sound in another direction for the next three tunes, highlighted by one more stunning cover version, Oscar Brown Jr.'s "Brother, Where Are You?". The album closes with some pre-disco tracks from the mid-to-late 1970s. Funk 7" collectors will freak out to finally get a chance to listen to Mel-O-Madnezz' superheavy "What You Getting High On" but will certainly also enjoy The Counts, Reunion and HC's dance floor bomb cover of "Harlem Shuffle". <a data-cke-saved-href="http://tramprecords.bandcamp.com/album/movements-vol-9" href="http://tramprecords.bandcamp.com/album/movements-vol-9">Movements Vol . 9 by Various Artists</a> Over a hundred great unknown songs have been re-released on the first eight volumes in the "Movements" series, the majority of which can not be found elsewhere, and Vol. 9 is no exception. The work of Germany's tiniest but grooviest record label is still incomprehensibly underestimated. We know you diggers, collectors, mavens, aficionados, fanatics, completists, enthusiasts, and just plain record geeks know what's up and we heartily salute you! Without your support there would be no Tramp Records. But now it's time for a broader cultural shift for good music and a sweeping move to uphold the legacy of the unsung heroes of funk and soul. Therefore, we humbly petition you: in 2018, Don't keep all this glory to yourself! Turn your friends and neighbors on! Thank you! Key selling points: - initial 400 LPs contain a bonus 7" by Mel-O-Madnezz ("What You Getting High On") - the double vinyl LP comes with a full album download code - deluxe double-gatefold LP with detailed liner notes, label scans & unseen photographs - all but one song appear on vinyl-LP for the very first-time https://tramprecords.bandcamp.com/album/movements-vol-9

  10. To be released this friday (26/5/2017) on Tramp Records Wayne McGhie - The Love You Save (prev. unreleased) / Love Is The Answer SALES NOTES: This time the Tramp crew serve you with a delicious double sider by Wayne McGhie. "The Love You Save" was never released when recorded in 1972 and this long-lost track is now available here for the first time on 45! In 1972, Wayne signed with record producer Greg Hambleton and, with former members of the Hitchhikers, recorded a couple of tracks including "Love Is The Answer" and "The Love You Save" at Toronto Sound Studios. "Love Is The Answer" was released later that year as a 45rpm single with the instrumental version on the flip, however "The Love You Save" was never released. Now, more than four decades later, the music of Wayne McGhie has been re-discovered and his songs and musicianship are finally receiving the attention so long deserved. <a data-cke-saved-href="http://tramprecords.bandcamp.com/album/love-is-the-answer-b-w-the-love-you-save-prev-unreleased" href="http://tramprecords.bandcamp.com/album/love-is-the-answer-b-w-the-love-you-save-prev-unreleased">Love Is The Answer b/w The Love You Save (prev. unreleased) by Wayne McGhie</a> You can listen and purchase it here: https://tramprecords.bandcamp.com/album/love-is-the-answer-b-w-the-love-you-save-prev-unreleased

  13. Critics and concertgoers love his live performances and call him a living blues legend. Record collectors of soul and funk 45s consider many of his early recordings on wax as a “must have”, some even as “holy grails”. No matter what Roy Roberts means to you, an album which collects his sought after 45rpm single tracks was long overdue. Roy Roberts became hooked on music while growing up in a small town in Tennessee, listening to blues and R&B on radio stations WLAC out of Nashville. When he turned 18, he moved to Greensboro, North Carolina to live with an uncle. Roy sharpened his skills while playing in makeshift bands until he landed a job with local hero Guitar Kimbers’ Untouchables. Before long, Roy was backing up major artists who came through town. One of those artists, Solomon Burke, took young Roy under his wing after letting him sit in as a bass player during a local gig. He was soon handling the guitar chores behind the future soul legend on tour. Roberts subsequently picked up touring gigs with such luminaries as Eddie Floyd, “Little” Stevie Wonder, and Otis Redding, while fronting his own band, The Roy Roberts Experience, on the regional club scene and South-eastern beach town circuit. Roy began to cut records in the mid-sixties, staying mostly behind the scenes as a session man. The tragic death of Otis Redding inspired him to step up to the microphone with a song dedicated to the late crooner. The record was released on Nina Simone’s NinaAndy label and backed by an ace studio band. Roy followed this successful effort with a string of 45’s that carried him well into the seventies. During the disco years, Roy turned his talents to country music. After a brief hiatus from the music scene, Roberts got the blues fever once again in the early 1990s. Besides recording his own material Roy continues to record and produce records for his label, and tours the U.S. and Europe regularly.
