    Movin' On A Groove

Playing the best in soul music - all on vinyl with resident DJs and our guest DJ for the afternoon will be the very popular Tony Ollier. Tony was brought up with soul music in his early teens and went to Wigan Casino in 1975. He then moved on to the Ritz Manchester & Whitchurch all-dayers. Tony began to DJ in 2008 having become disillusioned with the oldies scene. He collects and plays predominantly 70's/ modern/crossover, but can still play his rare 60's ie Poets, Imperial C's, etc. Tony does not mind playing some group soul at the right venue, and will always keep his eye on the punters to see what makes them dance. Our event can be found at the Ivory Music Bar, 2 The Ginnel, Harrogate, HG1 2RB. The event runs on selected Sunday afternoons on a bi-monthly basis. Not only will you hear some great music played - all on vinyl, but you will also enjoy the fabulous selection of drinks on offer at this great venue. As usual: 2pm - 10pm * FREE ADMISSION ALL-DAY * Drinks deals available until 6pm

    Movin' On A Groove

Well, after the episode of having to cancel our Christmas & New Year event, which was canceled due to high outbreaks of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, we are now able to move forward once again. We still feel it was the right decision to cancel and apologize for any inconvenience caused to anyone - we always have our member's safety as the highest priority! We have two dates planned at the moment, the first being Sunday, 20th March, and the next one after that on Sunday, 15th May. We are really hoping that now the Covid-19 situation is a lot less problematic, we can have a busy event similar to how it was before the pandemic started in early 2020. Dave, Mike, and myself along with the Ivory Bar management hope you can attend for a great afternoon soul music. If anyone needs any more info about the event please get in touch.
  4. Playing the best in soul music - all on vinyl with resident DJs and our guest DJ for the afternoon will be York's very own Andy Bellwood. Andy has some great credentials under his belt which include being the owner and manager of the newly created indie label 'Last Bastion Records'. He also runs a Cellar Full of Soul Eclectic radio show and deejayed at the Whitby and Perpignan Weekenders. VERY reluctantly this event has been cancelled due to the increasing uncertainty about Covid & we thought in the light of the alarming growing numbers, trying to keep everyone safe was our over riding concern for everyone. 2pm - 10pm *** FREE ADMISSION ALL-DAY *** Playing the best in soul music - all on vinyl with resident DJs and our guest DJ for the afternoon will be York's very own Andy Bellwood. Movin' On A Groove

We are glad to announce we are 'Back On Track' with the date of our first event in 18 months. It has been a very strange time for us all, but things are looking up and it is great seeing things returning to some sort of normality. Our guest DJ will be Scarborough's very own Mike Charlton. Mike has been DJing for many a year and has played at events like Soul Essence, Spirit of Soul, Soul Provision, and the infamous Bilbao Weekender to name but a few. Mike has a superb record collection so come along - you will not be disappointed. We hope you can get along to see us, as we all have a lot of catching up to do after the terrible 18 months that we have had to get through because of Covid-19. Myself, Mike, and Dave look forward to seeing you on Sunday, 24th October. Please note there will be food sold for the first time at our event and you will be able to purchase from 3pm - 8pm

Free Anniversary CD and sticker to first 50 people through the door! The Ivory bar is located in Harrogate town centre and we are on the 36 Leeds - Harrogate - Ripon bus route - only a minutes walk from Betty’s Tea Rooms on Parliament Street.
