  1. I hope this is is not true, I have known Martin for quiet a few years and know how passionately he felt about the northern scene and I know he would always try to play something different in every set he played. If this is true has anyone got details of the funeral as I would be privileged to be able to attend
  2. This is to Mary Chapman, Chris Dalton Dave Appleyard and all the original DJs, i know this will be an incredible day and very emotional. I was there on that first night in 1975 with my good friends Paul Priestley John Davis and myself Andy May and we were freezing on the pier and pleaded to Mary to let us in early and after what seemed like ages we were let in early. Chris Dalton and Dave Appleyard were DJing first and played Your Ready Now by Frankie Valli. I went up and had words thinking they could have played a better northern sound but on reflection it was the most appropriate record they could have played. I wish I had known how to get a ticket for the 50th do as I was an original member but I’m not on Facebook. Hope all you guys have a fantastic time lots of love to Mary and thanks Mary and Chris Dalton for coming to some of my northern do’s at South Kyme love to all. This will be the most amazing day in northern soul history. Have the most fantastic time all of you who have managed to get tickets for this event. kind regards And May

  7. Thanks mate good to know some people of a certain age are still up at this time meaning me of course as you must be quite young in comparison to this old git . My Other half does Facebook suppose I should really get up to date and just get on with it, but I’m just a stubborn old git. just to get back on track all of a sudden Jeanette Williams i never knew Eddie Foster Baby don’t you weep Edward Hamilton and the arabians Zoo the Human Zoo The Commadores Manifesto James Lewis and the case of tyme Come on train Don Thomas First played Everywhere with the three plucked violin strings finish that everyone used to play with their hands in the air at Wigan Samantha’s and everywhere not the cold no strings finish . Some time later they started playing the cold finish version and said it was the original, no where near as good in my opinion. So how did the alleged boot come out before the original bizarre but true
