Hi Tone yep, remember Geoff - everything he had was 35p - he didn't have a telephone at the time so I used to send him a telegram stating ' money in post, don't sell anything yet!' Got some great stuff - Dalton Boys, Marlena Shaw, Bobby Freeman etc etc. This was at the time when I was spending at least an hour a day on the phone to Ian Levine checking what new sounds he was going to 'break' at the Mecca that weekend. Happy days!! I thought his dad was a diplomat in Washington and Geoff visited him regularly and brought the stuff back with him. Julian

Hi Steve excellent information, it's always good to find out who first discovered some of the old classics. Was I correct in thinking that Richard only collected english stuff for his personal collection? Cheers Julian

I was discussing english collectors yesterday with alan Pollard and I mentioned the above guy and alan didn't know of him. I seem to remember he was from the Gloucester or Cheltenham area and collected in the late 60s'early 70s ( used to see him at the Torch etc). Never bought an import just english and he did sales lists. Does anyone else remember him, or is he still around? Julian

Mr Manship says the boot is sky blue and the originals are either sky blue or yellow and the titles are scratched in on both sides. This causes me a problem as mine is yellow with the title on the 'alone' side + the date 2/18/71 scratched in BUT NOT on the A side - only Dontee 103 A and something like T with a V underneath C. I'm assuming it's a 'real one' Julian

Originals have a very small capital B in the deadwax ( both sides of disc). Very very nice gift if it's a 'real' one! Julian
