  7. Hi Lee, it's all very strange. It came out of the same batch that had the Temptations TMG 587 with a similar Emi label that turned out to be a single sided test press ( it's on here a couple of months ago!)
  8. Morning, I have posted photos of some 'emidisc' and advance copy stuff on here before and the 'jury' seemed to be out on some of their authenticity. Just got round to cleaning and listening to some of them and came across this ( I attach photos) B side no information but plays with the withdrawn B side You must be love so I'm assuming it's a real withdrawn advance copy. Any thoughts or information about it greatly appreciated. TIA Julian

  15. The copy for sale has G1202 - B in the deadwax. My copy reads X- 7115 1202-2
  16. Looks genuine (?) but I asked him about the deadwax readings and they are not the same as my copy, owned around 25 years, so assuming a boot, unless it was maybe done at a different pressing plant. Can anyone clarify this please? To be fair to the seller he has put this information in his description but now has bids upto £180 !!

  18. Here's an interesting one
  19. Really looking forward to playing a few tunes at this iconic soul venue which I frequented in the 70s !!
  20. I believe the trip to Blackpool was after Simon started bootlegging whereas the Cats trip was before then
  21. I remember taking Simon Soussan, Chris Tipping ( who financed Simon's trip to the States) and Simon's 'minder' a tall jewish guy who couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag ( as we say in Yorkshire) to the Cats after his 'find' in New York. It got a bit scary and led me to suggest we left pretty damn quick as I realised the crowd were after rolling Simon for his tunes. I was a bit pissed off as I knew Graham, Pep, Blue Max, Alan etc well and I thought maybe they could have intervened, but heigh ho, that's life and record collecting. After our exit, we travelled up to the Torch where Chris Burton and the boys made them welcome ( I already knew Chris and the DJs very well through record dealing). The SWONS!
  22. Personally I always gave new stuff to Jebby to play. It was great to see Ian appear from nowhere with 'what is this, who owns it, I must have it, sell it to me ! Happy days
  23. Bradford Market had loads of 'one offs'. I remember getting stuff like Skip Jackson, Dearly Beloved, Bricks, broken bottles and Earl Jackson etc. I played the first 3 at Lord Jim's around 1970/71. They went down like a lead balloon☹ wrong tempo for the time!
  24. Definitely not played at the Wheel. Remember it being played at the Torch but not the Mecca. But then again my memory is not what it was. Keith Minshull told me a few years ago that we both got copies of the Salvadors from Bradford market when he came to visit me, but I don't remember that either!!
