  1. There has been a lot of new bands/artists over the last decade that has released soul/funk on 45s which I think is because they want a special kind of scene/people to buy it. Some of it is good and some of it is not so good. And there is so much going on these days that you might not get it all. The last I've heard is a UK artist called Gizelle Smith which is quite good. So, i would love some good recommendations, or maybe a list of your favourites? By that I mean so good that you will play it out, or at least buy it! Some of mine: Kings go forth Sharon Jones (most of the daptone stuff as well!) Nicole Willis and the Soul investigators
  2. Thanks, i was Brett who played it to me in August when he was in Oslo...
  3. Thanks mate! WHO can sell me a copy of this, need it
  4. Anyone got a sound clip? I heard a great instrumental version with organ last summer, but I can't remember the artist
  5. Somebody buy this, AWESOME x-over
  6. "AVENUE BAND" - HARLEM SHUFFLE -
  7. One of my favourites from my mod days in early 80s. Just found a couple of this version on a 7" EP. I do believe this is a record company who made lot's of cheap, and mostly bad versions of all kind of music, cos there was a lot of these records there with rock, pop, reggae and country. But the Harlem shuffle is quite good IMO, good vocals and backing. No artist name, anyone who knows this?
  8. So there is 3 version of this then, do you have sound clip? Here is a scan of the only (?) 45 from the rare Maple LP
  9. She also did a 45 as Gloria Barnes "I'll call you back later" on Maple, but that might be from the LP "Uptown"?
  10. If I ever gonna sell my records, Sebastians gonna sell them
  11. $305
  12. 2nd issue..? Isn't that a bootleg?
  13. Ah forgot this, great tune! And soooo cheap, you can even find it in Norway for nothing
  14. Ah yes, thats right
  15. This might be so rare that some don't think it exists, but there is a 45 of this.
  16. If possible, please ad a sound clip to your sugestions
  17. Carl Carlton - "I wanna be with you" ABC. Great, and cheap modern/rare groove! CARL CARLTON - I WANNA BE WITH YOU - ABC -
  18. Hi Mick, great tread! I'm not good with "big" records so I'll deffo gonna follow this tread for good tips. One of my favourite tunes (that I had to have!) on only LP is Eliminators "Loving explosion"
  19. Dave, thanks a lot for sharing the story, and Steve, great to hear from one of the members behind this fantastic soul record! This (Man of my word) has been one of my favourite tunes since I got an mp3 some years ago. And hearing Butch play it «live» at Oslo Soul Experiences 6 years anniversary this year, made it even better.
  20. Too easy Ian, give a me challenge Loades on ebay; https://cgi.ebay.com/JAMES-WARREN-KORGIS-THAT-WAS-MY-BIG-MISTAKE-7_W0QQitemZ330022690231QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_on_Vinyl?hash=item4cd6e29db7
  21. Is it worth buying?
  22. Great Sebastian, thanks for sharing!
  23. Remember there was a "live" sound file of this on good old soul club. Must have been a "biggie" somewhere in UK cos it sounded so great with all the people singing along. Didn't say where it was recorded....

    Dramatics

Allways mix this up with Limitations "All because of you" on Volt. Maybe it's cos they both where on Volt, or is Dramatics on Sport a different band?
