  1. As much as I love Northern soul I personally hate the "Keep the faith" saying/motif.. Anyone else feel the same??
  2. I use sleeves of a different colour to sort out my boxes . As my records are all in white sleeves I went for red and you can still close the lids. a random box in photo and 4 red sleeves to illustrate what I mean.
  3. It finally came to me after trawling through my boxes. It sounds to me a little bit like the determinations bing bong. Thanks for looking and sorry for wasting your time lol
  4. Just been playing some b sides and played ojays hold on ( other side of working on your case) and the intro reminds me of something else but I can't think what it is. Any ideas thanks in advance
  5. I wasn't down to dj I just was trying to think of the worst records I could play next time I'm asked I am thinking about this on original blue vinyl although saying this I'll never be asked again
  6. Totally agree. Nice record to listen to on radio in the van driving around. But definitely not a niter tune. Even at a soul nite I'd be cringing lol
  7. If this is Northern soul bring on soft cell. Proper Northern
  8. Mine must be the present manys the slip as it was the first record I danced to at Wigan as a 15 year old lad.
  9. Going on ebay as I'm sure I'll be able to get original vinyl on these and Going to put at front of play box then put on some kevlar and stab proof clothing. Maybe a Northern soul stab vest with keep the faith patches and wait for the knife throwing to begin
  10. I know that they are so bad that's why I said it.. do you think Sian or Dean would kill me very slowly if I ever played them at rugby lol
  11. And I would bet my life no one says the Ron grainer orchestra a touch of velvet or the Wigan joker by the all nighter band Had to say that as they are the worst records ever apart from the theme from joe90
  12. Where do you start for me there are so many awesome sounds. Maybe the tomangoes Epitome of soul the Salvadors definitely Eddie Parker or if you want to try to explain the scene let them watching living for the weekend the documentary from bbc
  13. Keep seeing records listed on soul source and other forums as low rider. Can anyone help me and explain what defines a soul record as such
  14. Looking forward to this so much.
  15. I'm beginning to get a bit lost now with all the reissues etc. I bought a copy thinking it's a reissue to play at home. But it's a vinyl . Is it a reissue or proper one.... I'm totally confused now
  16. Not only a fantastic book but I can't think of a more worthy cause than a stroke clinic. I am a lucky sod who has had 2 small ones with very few lasting problems . so a massive thank you from for raising so much. Take care of yourself and hope to see you out and about sometime in the near future.
  17. Thank you for letting me know. Although I knew the 2 singers names I didn't know much about them. Very sad news for Her family and friends..
  18. Highlights for me were having time and money to look for records as I don't always have a lot of spare money to spend but with not going out I've probably bought more this year than since the early 80s. And I finally got one of these And the other thing that I found that I enjoyed was growing vegetables etc. In my garden, On the first day of lockdown the area on the right was just lawn and by mid summer I had a great selection . Looking forward to growing some more in the spring.
  19. Hi. Anyone got one for sale? Let me know condition and whether issue or demo. and price of course thanks for looking
  20. I have an issue which someone gave me years ago it looks like it has been dragged along a road for miles by tanks and Jcb's but it plays with only a couple of crackles on the intro. So it might be your copy. Would be interesting what others say
  21. Always loved this record. But I can't believe that I have seen it for sale for £2000 on Rarenorthernsoul. I know it's rare but i was surprised to see the price. But everything seems to be fetching very high prices at the moment
  22. Well I put it back into the container, tucked away so hopefully it will be ok. It was just a beautiful thing to see on a grey November lockdown day
  23. Found this butterfly hiding inside one of the storage containers at work was moving the box carefully when it opened its wings.
  24. I can't narrow it down to one record. My utmost favourite is the professionals that's why I love you. I never tire of hearing it and even now after 40 odd years of owning one it always gets to me. But the other one is the tomangoes I really love you. For anyone who doesn't know me my son Kevin followed in my footsteps onto the niter scene and at a niter we were both dancing our tits off to this and we caught each other's eyes as we were singing along to the chorus and it's one of those moments I'll cherish for the rest of my life. And each time I hear or play it it brings back a very special moment in my life
