Or like me you could have a son who is into the scene... gets his dad (me) a spot then decides to break it gently to me, sometimes the week before as he knows how nervous i get.. but it is worth it as he is so proud when i dj.
How do you inadvertently lose a record off a bridge. Ive heard of people leaving them on top of cars and dj's putting them back in the wrong box and holding a sleeve upside down. Or is that what happened?
I know this has probably been covered many times but i have only been on here a year or so . But has this heat wave caused any problems with records and what are more susceptible. Vinyl, styrene or acetates?

If i am not mistaken Gary Rushbrooke sold his collection to jim so is this Gary's old copy which was covered up as Timothy Wilson played at wigan 1980- 81 then played at Stafford and Oddfellows etc?
I am really enjoying looking at everyone photos.. thanks for posting.. I took this a few years ago in pentewan, Cornwall.. just a fun photo of a cloud looking like it is about to destroy the house below.
I have a tape from the Oddfellows 1st anniversary in Feb 1983 and Gary Rushbrook introduces Bobby Smith as being played for the 1st time at Leicester and he says he played it for first time at the previous Stafford niter. So if anyone knows the date of that Stafford all nighter We will know the first time it was played out. Hope this helps. Regards Mick.
Nobody has said it so.
It's the end of the pier for this one.
Sorry I know it was a really bad joke. Went once but strangely don't remember the night at all so must have been good
Went for a walk along the beach 2 days ago found this fellow ... Also seeing all of the other great photos in this thread has reminded I haven't had my SLR out since my divorce. I still love to use films especially with my telescope.. time to get them dusted
Thought the information from Tim was really interesting. But what I would like to know is as I bought a lot of my records from Tim at oddfellows/Stafford has he got anymore but at the prices I paid back then??
Hi . I am trying to identify a track for someone i work with i know it was played by Keb at the oddfellows reunion.. Jud has it on his YouTube listed as clip 3901. Sorry but I have absolutely no idea how to do a link. Thanks in advance Mick
Whilst dj'ing at Derby at 3 in the morning. I'd been playing a few 70s & 80s sounds and someone asked me for some chart Motown.. after a bit of a delay while it sunk in, must admit I was totally gobsmacked and it took me by surprise . I apologised for not having any and told her to ask the Next dj who was my son kev lol and proceded to play the skullsnaps I'm your pimp.
Dont know What to say.. last saw Lee at the last Rugby and we were having such a laugh catching up and reminiscing the laughs we all used to have. Was like the early 80's again. And at Sian And Deans afterwards I was in the firing line for his humorous comments and the last thing he said was now I've moved back from Cornwall you are in for more of this .. can't believe i am not going to see him again. God bless you mate . my love to all your family and close friends. Mick and Kevin x x
It looks all good to me.. have seen plenty of demos over the years but i see more issues. I often play it in my sets great tune.. awesome intro the way it builds up
If there is something cheap i want off discogs i often just look through their listings for other cheapies to make the postage costs more reasonable. So in my mind i get 2 for the price of 1. Lol
