  1. WOW There's nowhere that'll be able to touch this. You can't afford to miss it.
Another, as always, absolutely brilliant session at the Twisted Wheel. There's really no other club worth considering
  2. First Class Return Ticket is "In The Pocket" Lots have tried but no one will ever duplicate the Twisted Wheel Club it's an "Impossibly"
  3. Rod Allsworth and Jimmy Scriv fresh back from a truly outstanding performance in Blackpool and now appearing at the Twisted Wheel. It just doesn't get any better. The Twisted Wheel Club is, always has been and always will be the Premier Mod/Soul Club in the land.
Still buzzing after another Fantastic session with Top DJs playing top tunes with great people creating an electric atmosphere, but that's always the case at the best Mod/Soul Club in the Land. Floor was full right to the end. Thanks to all concerned for a yet another great day at this iconic venue. Paul and Diane The Soul Time Travellers from Shropshire
Another amazing session from Pete, John, Jock and Special Guest the BBC's John Kane For this week only, because of maintenance work at the Club and not wishing to let people down, Pete, virtually overnight found this alternative venue. Yes it was different but the excellent music was the same as was the enthusiasm of all who attended. The Twisted Wheel Club is the Best Mod/Soul Club in the Country without a doubt. It has often been imitated but it could never be duplicated. Be there for the next session on 12th September. Paul (AKA Mod66) and Diane The Soul Time Travellers from Shropshire
  4. Manchester's Premier League Clubs. Manchester United - Manchester City and MANCHESTER TWISTED WHEEL. CLUB. Tremendous session with Richard Searling, Tim Rabjohn, Pete Roberts and Resident DJs - It was packed to the rafters and the place was bouncing. Paul (AKA Mod66) and Diane The Soul Time Travellers from Shropshire
Back with a vengeance. 1st Session since March 2020 and as usual packed to the rafters with hundreds of people dancing and listening to the truly amazing sets from all the DJs including the BBC's John Kane. The place was buzzing and the atmosphere electric. The is the best, probably only, Mod/Soul Club in the Country - imitated maybe but never duplicated. "There ain't nothing like the real thing" Paul and Diane - The Soul Time Travellers from Shropshire
  5. Hi Gillian Thanks for your reply. Have sent you a personal message Very best wishes Paul
Great afternoon with the Small Fakers and Pete and Jock on the decks. The place was packed with lots of new faces and the atmosphere was electric. Yet again the Twisted Wheel exceeded all expectations. Absolutely Brilliant Paul and Diane The Soul Time Travellers from Shropshire. Sent from my iPhone
  6. The Twisted Wheel is not only holding its regular Soul/Mod session this Sunday but is also hosting the Incredible "Small Fakers" band. There can't be anywhere else in the Country that could achieve this. A packed house guaranteed. The Original is still the Greatest. Why would anybody want to go anywhere else.
  7. Heartbeat early 70s - Loved it. Then the Mecca on a Monday Night Me (Paul), Diane Robinson (my wife) and Ray Broadbent We're all still on the Soul Scene today - The Wheel, Stoke, Whitby and Blackpool to name but a few of many. As the saying goes ' It will never be over for us'
  8. Sorry to hear the news. Live in the Midlands but have connections in Bradford. Have seen you guys at other venues, always playing great tunes All the best Paul (AKA Mod 66)
  9. Excellent We have to cling on to the nostalgia, the excitement, our naivety and our fond reminiscences of times past. Unfortunately, so many people have to have their say about today’s scene (well it’s not actually a scene as such) in such a detrimental way, when most of us are happy to just soak up the music and meet up with great people, whilst remembering what it was like when we were 17 and understanding that as great as it was, we can never recapture it, totally. “The original is still the greatest” Paul (AKA Mod66)
  10. Short skirts, high heels and nail bar manicures. Sorry girls you're at the wrong event!! Paul
  11. I was there in the beginning - Original Wheel and Mecca etc. Who cares if people say they were at Wigan and they weren’t. What’s the problem if a DJ plays Frank Wilson rather than some obscure under played tune which almost always ‘empties the floor’ Why does it really matter if people who have plenty to say about records and scooters etc, actually have no idea what they are talking about. However, if I was 17 I might disagree with the above. These days I just get out on the floor and let the others get on with it. Paul (Mod66)
  12. Thanks for info See everyone at Stoke in May Paul
  13. Do the colours on the events list ( black, yellow, orange, blue and purple) have any significance. if there’s a key, I apologise but haven’t noticed one. Paul (AKA Mod66)
  14. Oh yes. Nice one Joey Stoke tonight and coming up for the Wheel next week on 25th I'm sure Pete will deliver the goods Paul (AKA Mod66)
  15. Before everyone lost their way and were ' Going loco with Bernadette under the boardwalk whilst singing the Onion song!! We had these real Motown classics Love is like an itching in my heart -Supremes Why when the love has gone - Isley Brothers To name just two............................................. Paul (AKA Mod 66)
  16. When all said and done Ian Levine did bring a lot of records into the country I go to all the major events but last week attended a small local club in Teddington (towards London). Unbelievably, Ian Levine was doing a set there. The best night I've had for months and judging by the reaction I was not alone Paul (AKA Mod 66)
  17. Over 50 years ago since the original I'm 69 and going to more venues all over the country than I did when I was 17 The Wheel is one of my favourites and I regularly travel up from the Midlands. Keep up the good work Pete Paul (AKA Mod 66)
  18. 1968/69 Maybe went on for a few more years after that but not sure as had moved away.
  19. Anyone remember the Soul nights at Bradford Mecca. My wife, Diane, was friends with a couple of girls - Janice and Julie who might have gone but mainly went to the Heartbeat. Anyone know them. Sorry no surnames. Also, and totally unrelated to Soul, does anyone remember Alfresco Garage in Manningham. I worked there in 1969 then moved to Shropshire. Is it still there etc. Paul AKA Mod66
