  1. the club also owned many records itself (until they went...let's say missing)
  2. I make no comment about the record itself. But 'On Topic' sounds....then
  3. I wonder if what we are missing when we think back is...the wheel, Mecca, Casino, etc, went through at least two (more in some cases, M’s, etc) play/ music/ attendee transitions as they grew. That being the case, I for one often find myself now loving something I hated back then - and vice versa. or is that just rose tinted glasses?
  4. so the OP -but what are the top sounds that maybe haven't had much play or re-release over the years. Well for this... i'm not sure "top sounds" would be a definition for some...but me -hell yeah.
  5. 'WHAT CAN A MAN DO' ...probably most remembered for its A-side - The ShowStoppers
  6. Quinvy-bloomin auto correct
  7. Head to any web site on the Muscle Shoals studios-Quincy, Fame, etc. You’ll find plenty of inspiration.
  8. The passing of Fred Bridges last week was sad. Fred Bridges. a songwriter and a co-founder of the group the Brothers of Soul (this name came about as a result of the riots at the time). He worked to help The Masqueraders, and later road manager for The Four Tops. David Meikle (soul source member @David Meikle) did a wonderful piece in 2013 “The Fred Bridges Story” https://soulfuldetroit.com/web12-fred-bridges/fred-bridges-text/00-fb-introduction.htm

Originally a girl group called the Masterettes, but Herb Rooney replaced Penny Carter when she left- So technically a mixed group (at least after 1963).

Having featured on the label's inaugurating release alongside Wilson, Seacombe-based twins The Reynolds step up for their debut proper with a superb cover version of a Northern Soul classic.
