    Don't get me wrong Robb, this and other of your posts are great...but wasn't it Larry Lick who owned Sound Inc. Johnny Powers was born in 1938, Larry Lick born in 1941. As far as i'm concerned they were not the same man.

    I do think Gary Rubin needs a mention here. The 20 year old who started Pioneer. Sussman was a 21yr old V.P. Two labels Pioneer (Rock n Roll) and Empire (R &B) , New Loves.

    Phil, your opinion is as valid as anyone's...but i must figure as the 10% who like to hear 'as you say' rare, unearthed , niche. It's never stopped me dancing...(even if the floor cleared). It gives me time to dance, and everyone else to carry on gabbing (ooh did i say that outloud)

    Major Bill Smith saw vinyl shoratges as a blessing, because it 'culled out' a lot of amateurs. And i do wonder how many ( if at all) of my 45's have blended vinyl that's a fraction of the pure 100% because suppliers cut back.

    i think Mal it couldn't have been played before 2000 could it? Wasn't it the pre-The Seeds version but only put on vinyl later than Casino, Mecca, etc etc. Of course i could be talking Bol**cks!

    Around 1965, 1566 Lookout Drive (address on some Philwood 45's) was the address of the publicity officer for WTGR that broadcast from the studios of WKNO educational TV station (as part of the speech and drams dept) at Memphis State Uni.

    yes i've been listening all day. (to the test) After Stuart had left the studio and Aggers got into conversation with Michael Vaughn, Aggers went on to describe NS to Vaughn and said 'yes they stayed up all night to dance, they drank milk and had biscuits'. didn't know that

    Tim, 'CICMM' was released as the b-side of the a-side 'A woman needs to be loved. Then "Wild Child" & "Bugaloo George" began playing the b-side...that's how it took off.
