  1. The view of the beach at the back of Vic & Al’s place Isle of Wight.
  2. I guess typical YC’s weren’t entry to Soul for us, ( me) but maybe bizarrely to some on here “nights” out in Church premises put on as YC type “do’s”. My Memory plays tricks but a few I can think of we’re St Bernadette’s, St Kentigerns. Also, as has been on topic before, the small “ clubs above Burton the Taylor’s and many others”. Including pubs…yup pubs. we would never go to a “table tennis” sort of YC.
  3. Sooty,It seems the surrealism of your posts into the topic “Is this really the state of our scene” has jumped (shape shifted) to this thread too.
  4. As much as I’ve tried to follow the OP’s take and the subsequent posts, it’s all too surreal for me.
  5. I may have misunderstood you… if so sorry. Tim always describes his auction items really well and you can make a bid if you wish. You can’t expect him to repeat that once the items are sold. Surely the buy price and artist is all that’s needed.
  6. Off topic a tad...a la TW, possession in the laste 60's in Manchester was merely £10. and dealt with by Stipendiary..
  7. Grandisons =Mary & Helen sisters, and their first cousins Dorothy Webster & Floyd Bibbins. When they first started there was 6 of them.
  8. I've posted this before...Listen with both earbuds/headphone and then Take Right Earbud/headphone out. You go from Vocal to non vocal. The nearest thing to 'an instrumental/backing track(so to speak) on the same side as the vocal'
  9. is a backing track really an instrumental ( version)? I would think perhaps not, although might be a good start. to do the 'work' justice i guess it would need rearranging.
  10. It is the same guy. But is it the same guy as hosted the 'Pat & Jack' show of WPEN? ( they were the Monroe Taylor's).
  11. I find myself (annoyingly ) agreeing again. But...that can be like the conversations at the Cathedral ( & other places) before Tony Palmer's film. Yester-year's social media...word of mouth.
  12. I agree...BUT when (and sometimes it happens) does word of mouth exceed its usefulness and civilians start turning up with Iphones and Shazam in the air? - and it kills anotherwise top venue.
  13. https://eu.freep.com/story/entertainment/music/brian-mccollum/2022/06/21/motown-motortown-revue-detroit-riverfront-installation/7689780001/
  14. i'm a 'snapper' with an under £60 camera... Northumbria this week. p.S. date time stamp out of sync.
  15. Yes … I think it’s a Carl spin Thank you…I think it’s a Carl spin
  16. I feel the same about Kendrick Lamar..opinions hey, there a bugger.
  17. Would they play “it’s easy” on Champ. I’m no longer ( or to be honest never was much) a traveller but would make an exception.
  18. As much as “I love you & Zanetti” quite glad to get a break from the usual aftermath of the latest auction. Oh dear…did I say that out loud?
  19. that is certainly true of Ponographic books. They were rolled up as ballast.
guest DJ's were all v.g...thanks for visiting us. On the way home i did think...i must get their earlier (as used to) because Phil always turns in some good stuff for his spot also.
  20. will do (i'm a bit anonymous)...so someone will have to point you out though
  21. (battered records) they are the one's i've bought as VG/Ex or VG+
