  1. These are the kinds of things I would expect to hear at mod do's. I dont though...Know any mod clubs where you'd hear things like that? Let us know if you want to sell it mate.
  2. Nice that too, thnks for the sound file. Nothing to trade unfortunately. What's it go for that?
  3. thanks very much for the info mike & steve z. dont know Jimmy Philips, got a sound file?
  4. Johnathan Capri (?)- Gonna build a mountain Any info on label or if this is even the right artist (not sure if I remembered it right ) would be appreciated. R&B type thing Paul Sadot played. A copy for sale would be even more appreciated.
  5. same artist, nearly everything he did had pic sleeves cos it was mostly European and it's the same guy, you can tell by the voice too. I think his documented birth date must be wrong.
  6. Had Swedish & German pic sleeve issues on Polydor. Just to milk every last fact out of it: The version on a UK Youngblood label sampler is different to the 45 and the backing track was used by dodgy Buddy Holly tribute act 'Mike Berry' of all people - in 1976! I've seen a US 45 by him too, not listed in that discography: 'Cool Swimming Pool' on New Bag.
  7. about £40 but hard to find. Dutch 45 only
  8. I got one on Ebay, seen a few on there actually. I also got a 45 Emidisc of 'Down In The Subway' / Love Ladder' and was wondering if it was a proper 60s acetate or one of those done in the 70s for the soul scene. Anyone know id this was played in the 70s and likely to have been done then? The tracks are off the 1965 Polydor LP ' Brave New World', good LP recorded in England, but is more Oscar Brown JR than soul. 'Ode to a discotheque' probably from the same sessions but not on the LP. He done great tracks from the mid 50s to the 70s, including the great track 'Swim' which I wont mention cos it got slagged off on here! He was in the US army & recorded twist tracks with Brigitte Bardot and was big in Scandinavia & Europe in the early 60s. I'd love to hear his life story!
  9. I love Antallects, but then I always seem to prefer the quirkier northern tracks though, which are always the ones that divide opinion. IT seemed to go down well at Lifeline. Eddie Bishop gets my vote too. Shite Kenny G version of an already cheesy track, just what the doctor ordered . While I'm here, this new thread format's a bit crap, it's a right hassle to read all the posts now
  10. missed the Tobi Lark. Let me know if it falls through, cash waiting. Or if anyone else has one please let me know, ta x
  11. you've found the person responsible for Eddie Bishop? I'd love to meet that person and shake him by the neck!
  12. I'd say £100 for this at least. That's what I'd pay for it anyway. It's very rare compared with other 45s from about the same time like 'Fire Eater' by Rusty Bryant. Never turns up.
  13. these are on Ebay all the time for £100 tops. Like someone said used to be everywhere for cheap and I think £75 will be the price this settles at. OK track, but her voice is too squeaky IMO.
  14. about £25-£50. I think Make Me Believe is a bit more, and better IMO.
  15. I'm looking for a copy of 'Work Song' if anyone has one. Will pay decent price, thanks, mik.parry@talk21.com
  16. great track (the Jaba one). I think there's a few people who would pay £750+ for this.
  17. 'NUtherin' is LP only but there is 'Jive Samba' on 45 by him, which is basically an earlier version of nutherin but not as good. I'm gonna stick me neck out too and say Spanky's 'Sunshine...' was definitely never issued on 45. I think some DJs been playing some re-issues! I'd love to hear different though...
  18. I'm pretty sure Spanky's Sunshine was never issued on 45 originally. I'd need for someone to say they had it to believe it. & I've seen quite a few DJs playing the bootleg LP, it looks and feels very similar to the real one. I have heard that the Long John Baldry version got a euro 45 release, anyone confirm? It's a great version IMO. THe Ella version is actually quite cheap & easy to find on BASF, Polydor or MPS 45. It got released all over.
  19. Is there a US issue credited to British Walkers? I know the US issue on Soultime, but that's credited to Mr Dynamite.
  20. Apart from the EP, it got an original 45 release in South Africa in 1967, same year as the LP.
  21. no, sorry don't think so, I'll let you know if any come my way. Dont worry about the Whatnauts LP, it was fetching £50+ 10 odd years ago when it was first popular. I haven't seen one for ages, I'm sure it'll go for £100+. (especially if you get someone to bid £99!)
  22. I think the demand for this comes mostly for the track called 'Why cant people be colours too' or something like that, and is from hip hop / funk collectors. It's great track too.
  23. Wanted: INVITATIONS WATCH OUT LITTLE GIRL MGM thanks mik.parry@talk21.com
  24. think it's actually Georgia Lewis, I have a soundfile which I've tried to attach, if it hasn't worked i'll e-mail it you if you want. It's on Delden
