  5. Let me know if you want to sell it - good price cash. PM me or e-mail @ mik.parry@talk21.com Sorry if you don't and were just enquiring, enjoy it!
  6. fellow Pow Wow DJ, Gav Arno has a copy. Got to say, It's OK but nowhere near JT's, so sort of pointless
  7. i'd pay double that for it, at least, if you got one
  8. Great 5, could have been mine! just need that Danny f&%$*&g Owens out of them!
  9. Has Bunny Sigler 'Sunny Sunday' ever had much plays in any era? Couldn't believe it when I heard this and found out it was everywhere between £5-£15, think it's great
  10. Trent Sisters pretty poor?? No doubt it dont sound like a standard northern soul record, I can see why it wouldn't get played on that scene ... but to call it pretty poor's crazy. Little John's better though, that's my holy grail without a doubt
  11. So much for Bill Bush being just an alleged white supper club jazz act. "now now now" is as hard grinding R&B as it gets, been playing it since the late 90s. Will never forget dancing next to Bill to his own track with you playing it in GLasgow that time. Fantastic. It's Mik, Mikey & Paul's mate from Sheffield by the way, how you doing? Been wondering where you and your top tunes been....Happy New Year pal
  12. Hi Nashee, you going to Hideaway tonight? I'll play one of your favourites. And then hide
  13. Johnny Barnes - nothing without your love (jaba) John Lucien - Search for the inner self (Apmex) Fred Bridges - Baby dont you weep (Versatile) Gospel Pearls - Two little fishes (Liberty EP) Young Jessie - Brown Eyes (Vanessa) If you're R&B inclined, I'll be playing some of them tomorrow night at the Hideaway! and NYE at NUTS do in London
  14. mine are: Enie Washington - lonesome shack Charles Sheffield - voodoo working Ronnie Love - chills N fever Otis Lee - hard row to hoe Young Jessie - brown eyes would be easier to do a top 20 though!
  15. I'd pay £350 for one for a start...
  16. £25-35
  17. A record could be great but sppeded up a tad become a far more comfortable dance tempo. It's only about dancing. I would rather heare a great record pitched down -4 but be just about be able to keep up with it then not play it cos everyone would get their feet in a tangle. UYou can't say it's 'not how the artist would have wanted'. Artists regularly played tracks live at differing speeds. A song's quality rarely has much to do with it's tempo to the nearest 10 bpm. I'd say + or - 5 either way and I'd defy you to even know it had been changed. Playing records at the wrong speed so that a fast girly number sounds like a midtempo bloke number is wrong though, the instruments will just sound bad There are times you have to concede: it's a great song but needed a better version for our dancefloors. Incidentaly, now you can get software that time stretches whole pieces of music. So you could have it sung & played at exactly the same pitch but slower or faster. - Maybe a whole new world of playable tracks? Ballads turned midtempo...I was thinking of doing it to Jamie Coe's 'Cleopatra', a song that I love but it just too fast to dance to. I dont think he'd mind, it's just like someone doing a slower/faster cover version.
  18. been after this a long time and will pay £800 cash if anyone wants to sell one mik.parry@talk21.com
  19. think you should read my post again mate, you obviously mis-read it.
  20. I snapped it up without hesitation. I dont think it's one of those that's worth waiting to find a cheaper one, only seen a handfull in 5 years. Bloke I bought it off was a real gentleman,a proper diamond, one of the best, salt of the earth, top geezer with a real winning personality and very generous .
  21. I paid 300 for a minter after years of looking. probably top end price, but try finding one, especially in good nick!
  22. Saw her last Tuesday with the Quantic Soul Orchestra, a top young soul / funk band from Brighton. She was absolutely amazing as was the whole gig. One of best things I've seen for years, go see them if youh get the chance, Never thought I'd be dancing to her singing 'you' live with 1000 students, imagine how bizarre it must be for her!
  23. might post young jessie up in the male vocals thread to increase demand a bit!
  24. brilliant!
  25. sea of faces - frank james - 11985 refosoul
