  1. I remember me, my mate & these 2 girls wanted a late drink one night in Hanley but we didn't fancy a trendy place so we deceided to go the gay club. We phoned up & said we were 2 gays & 2 lesbians & if we came down from Manchester would we get in. They said yes, so in we went trying to look as gay as possible but who should be on the door but Bob so we wold have got in anyway. I think that was the last time I saw him.
  2. Did it get a UK release?
  3. Pleadin' Heart - ruby johnson - v-tone 13463 refosoul Great R&B on the other side of Callin' All Boys
  4. I know of it but haven't heard it. Any good?
  5. It's Just My Way Of Loving You - johnny moore - date 13458 refosoul B side of Walk Like A Man
  6. Not heard of that one, what label's it on ? That brings my list up to 22 versions.
  7. I read somewhere that "The Holidays" name was owned by Don Davis & the line up was whoever he wanted it to be at the time. There's probably more on the line up in the article if I can find it.
  8. I can't see the point in playing something like "Festival Time" when you could be playing "To Win Your Heart" instead but if it's an inst. only I can't see the problem.
  9. Used to have a demo of it, it was styrene with a ztsc stamp, I also had an identical looking one but it was vinyl & without the stamp. I think it may have been booted in styrene as well but with a scratched in matrix.
  10. Has it got the album only "ain't no big thing" on it ? Best version I've heard although there's about another 15 versions that I haven't heard.
  11. Isn't it "Showdown" - Archie Bell & the Drells
  12. Lady in green, Sam played it at a Bangor alldayer and I absolutly hated it, a year or so later I completly changed my mind & really fell in love with it. Wasnt in the best frame of mind at the time though, been a Colwyn Bay nighter that was cancelled at the last minute the night before. No ale at the dayer so i went to the corner shop, saw 4 welsh lads in front of me get served from under the counter only to be told when it was my turn that they didn't sell alcohol. I was also pretty indifferent to Yvonne Vernee & Tamala Lewis at the time but think they're fantastic now.
  13. Haven't been since the early 80's but was thinking it's about time I went again. Hope the new venue's a success hough.
  14. try this one lorne lesley is this northern no its popcorn well i like it brilliant some may differ That's David Dickinson, the antiques bloke's wife
  15. Do you know about www.soulfuldetroit.com
  16. If you want the top price & you're still going to venues take a sales box with you. When I sold mine I wasn't so I got a mate to take them out with him, he sold the best stuff pretty quick. Tim Brown had what was left of the imports & Nick Marshall had the British. I don't regret selling them cuz it payed the mortgage off & I doubt I'd be able to be collecting again now if I hadn't.
  17. Got my record today, well pleased with it I suppose I was being over cautious.
  18. I know Jackie Shane had some US releases but I think he may have had Canadian only releases as well, at least on LP. Always wondered if he was male or female till I saw him on u tube, even then it's not obvious. Crumb
  19. It's £80 in Tim Brown's book but that's far too low, a boot went for £67 on ebay a while ago. Cheers Crumb
  20. Thanks for the advice, her paypal account is working again. I'll let you know when (if) I get the record. Cheers Crumb
  21. The seller is jrjr55, he hasn't sold anything for 6 months but the last buyer left negative feedback and called him a fraud, unfortunatly I didn't read this first, I just saw a feedback of 285, 99 per cent positive Cheers Crumb
  22. Thanks Paul & Shute. I've bought records from Belgium before & never had a problem but I am aware of their reputation, thats why I'm wary now. Cheers Cumb
  23. I bought a record from Belgium on ebay a few days ago and paid with paypal. I've just had an email from the seller saying his paypal account isn't working and can I pay it to another email address instead, for "services". He's got 98 per cent positive feedback with just 2 negative. I've cancelled the original payment, should I send one to the new address or not ? Thanks Crumb
