What do auction prices tell us about current values
Scooterboy replied to Bbrich's topic in All About the SOUL
Have you paid too much? Nearly all command significantly higher values today (event at set sale) and given the examples you have provided I'd guess that you are well on the way to having doubled your outlay. So have you paid too much? In my humble opinion, "no" you haven't. -
Little Walter + His DJs Bishop Auckland Snooker Club.
Scooterboy commented on Baz Atkinson's event in Soul Nights
Looking forward to seeing and hearing you next week. I am really hoping to get down to hear Phil and Leanne early doors. A top night for rare soul fans and a great choice of guest in Geoff - what a collection that chap has. DJ'd with Geoff at The Ukrainian Club (Ashton Under Lyne, Manchester) a few times...bring your dancing shoes folks...you're gonna need 'em. See you on Saturday. Chris -
It's Love's Run Out...copy sold via Darren Brown's site for over £2K in the last week if that helps. Styrene and vinyl copies.

Ashton Ukrainian Club Rescheduled - Ashton-under-lyne
Scooterboy commented on Eddiefoster's event in Soul Nights
Gutted not to be able to be with you for the grand re-opening. It's times like this that I regret being so far away. Had a great time as a resident and wouldn't have missed it for the world. I'm certain that you'll have a belter of a night and I hope to get down every couple of months in 2022. Fingers crossed I'll be able to spin a few tunes now and again...will schmooze Mr Churm and see what he says. Have a great night...I'm certain you will. Chris -
On hold, pending payment. Thank you for your interest. Chris

Hi Folks Copy has a number of marks/scuffs, none of which are deep and NAP. Photos accentuate the marks. Probably VG+ condition, but plays great. Not sure of price, would £100 (inc shipping) be fair? If not, please feel free to make me an offer. Bank transfer on this occasion, not PayPal. Thank you for looking. Chris

Jason Koenig(Funk you record seller) RIP aged 38
Scooterboy replied to Martin Phillips's topic in All About the SOUL
Only recently had the pleasure to deal with/buy from Jason. Was impressed by his professionalism, easy going manner and politeness. I am sorry to hear of his passing: he seemed a really nice, genuine and knowledgeable chap. God bless. -
Hi Folks, I'm still struggling with Buddy...but haven't yet given up. Buddy Conner - When You're Alone - Looking for the Breakthrough orange 1003 release only. Richard Marks - Love Is Gone - Shout S-249 I'm looking for EX copies or better, please (don't want much do I?) and with clean labels. Would be chuffed to bits if someone could help me out. Thank you for taking a peek. Chris

I remember hearing Jimmy & The Entertainers at The Parr Hall in...1985/6. Seem to recall hearing it was a £70 record way back then when as a poor student living on £15 a week. £70 was an astronomical sum. My old buddy back then (and still is today) Neil Brown sold me his copy many years later. I think for £400. Other than that, and JM's copy, I have never seen once for sale since. Given this, the final price seems a relative bargain based on rarity if nothing else.

Agreed...had it once, sold it..not a great record imho

Had no idea Wally Cox was as pricey. I have a demo that I bought yonks back and had I not seen the result I would have assumed it was a £50 record...easy to get out of touch sometimes. Was well pleased to see it fetch that price though.

Tim Brown has one on auction ending 12th August. Inspirations btw...

Having No Joy So Far...Can You Help With These Two?
Scooterboy replied to Scooterboy's topic in Record Wants
Hi Steve. Great to hear from you. Yes I'm well and looking forward to going to my first Soul Night up here this coming weekend (Little Walter's in Bishop Auckland). Hope all is good in your world. Thank you for thinking of me, that'd be smashing if you could remember where it was for sale. Chris -
Hi Folks, I've not had any luck in obtaining copies of these two. Can you help please? Buddy Conner - When You're Alone - Looking for the Breakthrough orange 1003 release only. Mamselles - Open Up Your Heart (Let Love Out) - ABC11040 I'm looking for EX copies or better, please (don't want much do I?) and with clean labels. Would be chuffed to bits if someone could help me out. Thank you for taking a peek. Chris

Looking forward to my first visit. Heard great things about this event and have seen examples of previous playlists...looks an absolute belter! Moved from Stockport (Greater Manchester) to Northumberland a week before lock-down in March 2020 and am long overdue a decent night. So what if it's a 140 mile round trip...it'll be worth it I'm sure. Have already met Glen and am looking forward to meeting a few more of the NE's finest soul folk. I'll be the one with no mates, standing on his own, knowing no-one (apart from Glen) and with a dodgy accent. Please pop over and say 'hello'! Chris -
Ahh...thank you.

Wasn't The Hamilton Movement on this week's auction list? I took a peek earlier and it had disappeared...confused is I.

Hi Folks, Posted a few weeks ago, still looking for a copy. It's a present, so ideally needs to be EX or better, and with clean labels. Issue or demo. I would be very pleased to hear from you if you can help. Thanking you in anticipation. Chris

Not Northern, but a great tune IMHO. A staple of the scooter rally scene and one that's always guaranteed to get me singing out of tune at the top of my voice after a few beers on a rally. Love the record...hold on, heaven guide me!

Some surprising prices even in today's surprising climate. Inverts was a relative bargain in comparison to some of the results and I must admit I had expected that to hit four figures. Choice of Colour attracted a far higher price than I'd envisaged. £350, maybe £400 tops I thought. The Strange World Of Northern Soul indeed.

Prefer Willy Mallory myself...

The Traits - Too Good To Be True - Garrison w/d
Scooterboy replied to Scooterboy's topic in Record Sales
This record is currently 'on hold' pending payment. Chris -
Hi Folks, Thanks for taking a peek. Lovely condition VG++/EX (and I am a picky so-and-so). A couple of fingernail-type drag marks prevent an even better grading as playing surface is generally EX/M-. Full £-back guarantee if your grading and mine diverge. £90 (shipping included - Special Delivery within UK). Please buy with confidence as I have good, albeit limited, feedback. Bank transfer on this occasion I'm afraid. Thank you. Chris

Hi Peeps Sadly I am still looking for an M-/EX copy. Like a kn*b I sold mine around 20 years ago...then woke up to just how good it is. D'oh! Buddy Conner - When You're Alone - Looking for the Breakthrough orange 1003 release only. Thanks and I hope you can help. Chris
