  1. Your post was just ahead of my question. Thank you. Chris
  2. As a technophobe I am struggling to add an image to this post. But if you Google Leslie Uggams - Love Is A Good Foundation using Google Images you can see the record in the results. Can anyone help me out by adding the image? Chris
  3. Are you thinking of Sonday records? Leslie Uggams - Love Is A Good Foundation may be the record you're thinking of. Chris
  4. Hi Folks, The record has been cleaned and played just the once by me (and just to check it pays OK). Looks like it was totally unplayed before I got it (though it was very dusty...hence the need for a clean). £450 includes Royal Mail Special Delivery to UK only. Payment is going to have to be by bank transfer or cheque (cheque to clear before shipping) or concealed cash (at your risk). Bank transfer is my preferred option as I have a nasty credit card bill that needs sorting and I don't think I can pay a credit card bill using PayPal. This is genuinely a beautiful copy. Thank you for looking. Chris
  5. Thank you, I feel a little less unlucky now. My dog cannot hide behind the 'separation anxiety' argument as I was in the house at the time...he just got to the door quicker than me (mind you, I was on the phone and he does have more legs than me). To make matters worse, when I shouted at him he got all scared and did a wee on the carpet! After I'd finished clearing that up I emailed the wife and told her what he'd done and she blamed me! I am soooooo unlucky. If I fell into a barrel of t*ts I'd come out sucking my own thumb! Chris
  6. Gutted does not even come close... Just recieved Jay Bee 'Praying For An Answer' from the USA. Paid $450. Was on the phone when the postman arrived. Heard a commotion. My 7 stone German Shepherd had a grip of the package in his jaws and was shaking it like a thing possessed. His teeth have gone straight through the packaging, straight through the record. The parts of the vinyl that haven't got holes in them are cracked with chunks missing. It's b*ggered beyond belief. It's the first 45 I have had from the USA since having the dog so there was no knock on the door to 'sign for' the pacakage. Anyone else had a similar experience they want to share...just to make me feel less gutted? Chris
  7. PM'd you. Chris

Hi Folks, I'm hoping that someone can help me to say a big 'Thank you' to a buddy of mine. He's been a great help to me over the last few months and has gone out of his way to support me during what has been an extremely difficult, emotionally draining and quite scary few months...and it ain't over yet! My buddy collects RCA black issues and I'd like to help him complete his collection. The guy's been a star, a top mate and a tower of strength. I'd like to say 'thank you' with one (if not both) of the following: Lorraine Chandler — I Can’t Change and The Pageants — Are You Ever Coming Home Do you have either of these on the black issue? If so, would you be willing to part with one (or both)? As they are a gift I'd like them in as good a condition as possible (as close to M- as I can). I know that I'm asking a lot...as if getting the above on black issue wasn’t enough of a challenge. If you can help then I'd be most grateful. If not, do you know anyone who might be able to help me? If I'm lucky enough to be contacted might I ask you to do so via a PM on this site or via chris.penn@voweurope.com please with details of the condition and price. My buddy is a SS reader, but he'll find it much more difficult to log-in this week...so I have a fighting chance of surprising him! Thanking you in anticipation. Chris
  9. Hi Folks, I hope you find something of interest. Needs must - bought a major 'want' and am now in trouble with the wife (I had to tell her about the record as I needed her to loan me the balance as I wasn't able to rustle up all funds)...and now she wants her £ back. Sadly she won't take paypal so all payments must be by bank transfer or cheque (records will be posted once funds cleared). Postage will be £2.50 recorded, £7 special delivery. Overseas postage...not sure, but can find out if you're interested. I can send photos of Johnny Maestro and Mavis Rivers if you email chris.penn@voweurope.com (I'll try to add them to this site too, when I get home). I have tried to price the records as reasonably as possible - if you disagree I will try to be reasonable. All records are listed in alphabetical order by artist (or they should be...if I've got my A-Z right). Please PM or send an email to chris.penn@voweurope.com if interested. 10. Totally agree. Dynamite Singletary is both great and a bargain. Someone will bite your hand off. Paid significantly mrte for my copy (but that was a while back). Chris
  11. I've contacted the auctioneers, a hard copy catalogue is apparently available from the end of this week. I've also checked on the buyer's fees and the response from the auctioneer is shown below. Hi Chris, Buyers commission of 15%+VAT (18% inclusive of VAT) is payable on all winning bids. Therefore if you bid £100 the total amount payable will be £118. Hope this clarifies. Kind regards Paul
  12. The auction rooms are 2 miles from my house - hoorah. I shall be booking the morning off work and praying my insurers cough up for my accident on the Lambretta before the auction starts.
  13. Looks like I'm sorted for Otis Rush, thank you Romain. Still chasing The Tabs though if anyone can help. Thanking you in anticipation. Chris
  14. Hi Folks, Looking for Otis Rush on Duke for a buddy who's got a 'big' birthday coming up soon, ideally looking for EX condition or better as it's a present. Also after The Tabs 'Two Stupid Feet' for me (on Wand I think), again condition is important and again I'm ideally looking for EX condition or better. Sadly at the moment I'm only on one foot at the moment (stupid or not) as a 75 year old gentleman who "just didn't see him officer" decided to pull out on me and my 1970 mint condition Lambretta GP. I'm hopping mad (no pun actually intended) as my scooter...with less than 1,000 miles on the clock since a full nut and bold restoration...is now trashed. If you can help, please PM me or drop me a line via chris.penn@voweurope.com (I can only access the internet and my emails at certain times so please don't think I'm being rude if I don't respond straight away). Thank you. Chris
  15. Yes, a very unfortunate topic title. I was most disappointed to learn of the true nature of this thread.
  16. Hi Folks, Anyone got a copy for sale? Ideally M- if at all possible. Thanking you in anticipation. I won't be able to log on again until Saturday, but will respond as soon as possible thereafter. Chris
  17. Bobby Adams...great record and a steal at £50. Paid a little more than that for mine...but worth every penny! Chris
  18. Hi Folks, Thanks for looking. Needs must I'm afraid. Ex condition generally (small hairline marks only). Small WOL...see picture. Hiss on run in and for 1.5 - 2 seconds on record (after this it plays great as you can hear from the soundfile link). Need £750 (or very, very close offer). On hold...subject to receipt of payment. Now sold...thank you. NNo PayPal on this one I'm afraid as I need to settle a bill for my scooter and cannot pay the Dealer using PayPal. It'll need to be cheque (record sent once funds cleared) or a bank transfer...or cash on collection. https://www.divshare....ad/17646429-fdb Any questions...just holler and many thanks for looking. Chris

Perhaps ebay should introduce a new classification? New Used FUBAR ...plays great though? Hmmm...even if it does, I suspect the price is a tad optimisitic.
  20. Clearly I wasn't quite as dazed and confused as I thought! Phew...what a relief and I'm pleased that my historical abuse of Sanatogen and Horlicks wasn't affecting my memory. I just knew I hadn't dreamt it all.
  21. If this is the record with CHAMP written on the label (can't access Darren's web site at present to check), then there's an interesting story I was told by a previous owner of this record that I have no way of verifying. Apparently the CHAMP being referred to is none other than Cassius Clay / Mohammed Ali the boxer and this copy was given to him as a present. Who gave him the copy? I have no idea. Did the CHAMP ever get the copy? Again I have no idea. Is the story true or just a myth? Again, I have no idea. Was I on the end of a wind-up? Again, I have no idea. That said, I thought it was an interesting anecdote. I suspect I may have been a little dazed and confused at the time I was told this story...hence the reason why I can only remember parts of the conversation. If the chap who told me this is the current owner and is selling this via Darren's site then he may be able to verify the story. If true...this may add to the collectability of the item. If I was so messed up at the time I heard the tale that I've created my own urban myth....then I apologise for wasting your time reading this post.
  22. I am a very bad Soul fan. I am a very naughty Soul fan. I must be punished...phwor!
  23. I really enjoyed the play when it came to The Lowry in Salford Quays. Unbeknown to me, and to my horror, my Mum and Dad decided to go and see the play in Coventry to find out a bit more about 'what their son has been into for the last 20 odd years'. We subsequently had a somewhat difficult conversation about illegal substances! I had a lot of explaining to do. Was I a man or a mouse...did I come clean? I'll say no more other than..."pass the cheese"
  24. Here's mine... Rarely ridden to an event as the helmet would ruin my hair (lame excuse as if you know me I don't have much hair to ruin). And in case Munchkin reads this...I know it's a Vespa! But...I do now own a GP Manx Replica and did own an Li150 (S1), Li 150 (S2) and Li150 (S3) in addition to the SX225 that I destroyed on the way to and from the Euro rally to Cork back in 1998 (I think).
