  1. Totally agree. Dynamite Singletary is both great and a bargain. Someone will bite your hand off. Paid significantly mrte for my copy (but that was a while back). Chris
  2. I've contacted the auctioneers, a hard copy catalogue is apparently available from the end of this week. I've also checked on the buyer's fees and the response from the auctioneer is shown below. Hi Chris, Buyers commission of 15%+VAT (18% inclusive of VAT) is payable on all winning bids. Therefore if you bid £100 the total amount payable will be £118. Hope this clarifies. Kind regards Paul
  3. The auction rooms are 2 miles from my house - hoorah. I shall be booking the morning off work and praying my insurers cough up for my accident on the Lambretta before the auction starts.
  4. Looks like I'm sorted for Otis Rush, thank you Romain. Still chasing The Tabs though if anyone can help. Thanking you in anticipation. Chris
  5. Hi Folks, Looking for Otis Rush on Duke for a buddy who's got a 'big' birthday coming up soon, ideally looking for EX condition or better as it's a present. Also after The Tabs 'Two Stupid Feet' for me (on Wand I think), again condition is important and again I'm ideally looking for EX condition or better. Sadly at the moment I'm only on one foot at the moment (stupid or not) as a 75 year old gentleman who "just didn't see him officer" decided to pull out on me and my 1970 mint condition Lambretta GP. I'm hopping mad (no pun actually intended) as my scooter...with less than 1,000 miles on the clock since a full nut and bold restoration...is now trashed. If you can help, please PM me or drop me a line via chris.penn@voweurope.com (I can only access the internet and my emails at certain times so please don't think I'm being rude if I don't respond straight away). Thank you. Chris
  6. Yes, a very unfortunate topic title. I was most disappointed to learn of the true nature of this thread.
  7. Hi Folks, Anyone got a copy for sale? Ideally M- if at all possible. Thanking you in anticipation. I won't be able to log on again until Saturday, but will respond as soon as possible thereafter. Chris
  8. Bobby Adams...great record and a steal at £50. Paid a little more than that for mine...but worth every penny! Chris
  9. Hi Folks, Thanks for looking. Needs must I'm afraid. Ex condition generally (small hairline marks only). Small WOL...see picture. Hiss on run in and for 1.5 - 2 seconds on record (after this it plays great as you can hear from the soundfile link). Need £750 (or very, very close offer). On hold...subject to receipt of payment. Now sold...thank you. NNo PayPal on this one I'm afraid as I need to settle a bill for my scooter and cannot pay the Dealer using PayPal. It'll need to be cheque (record sent once funds cleared) or a bank transfer...or cash on collection. https://www.divshare....ad/17646429-fdb Any questions...just holler and many thanks for looking. Chris
  10. Perhaps ebay should introduce a new classification? New Used FUBAR ...plays great though? Hmmm...even if it does, I suspect the price is a tad optimisitic.
  11. Clearly I wasn't quite as dazed and confused as I thought! Phew...what a relief and I'm pleased that my historical abuse of Sanatogen and Horlicks wasn't affecting my memory. I just knew I hadn't dreamt it all.
  12. If this is the record with CHAMP written on the label (can't access Darren's web site at present to check), then there's an interesting story I was told by a previous owner of this record that I have no way of verifying. Apparently the CHAMP being referred to is none other than Cassius Clay / Mohammed Ali the boxer and this copy was given to him as a present. Who gave him the copy? I have no idea. Did the CHAMP ever get the copy? Again I have no idea. Is the story true or just a myth? Again, I have no idea. Was I on the end of a wind-up? Again, I have no idea. That said, I thought it was an interesting anecdote. I suspect I may have been a little dazed and confused at the time I was told this story...hence the reason why I can only remember parts of the conversation. If the chap who told me this is the current owner and is selling this via Darren's site then he may be able to verify the story. If true...this may add to the collectability of the item. If I was so messed up at the time I heard the tale that I've created my own urban myth....then I apologise for wasting your time reading this post.
  13. I am a very bad Soul fan. I am a very naughty Soul fan. I must be punished...phwor!
  14. I really enjoyed the play when it came to The Lowry in Salford Quays. Unbeknown to me, and to my horror, my Mum and Dad decided to go and see the play in Coventry to find out a bit more about 'what their son has been into for the last 20 odd years'. We subsequently had a somewhat difficult conversation about illegal substances! I had a lot of explaining to do. Was I a man or a mouse...did I come clean? I'll say no more other than..."pass the cheese"
  15. Here's mine... Rarely ridden to an event as the helmet would ruin my hair (lame excuse as if you know me I don't have much hair to ruin). And in case Munchkin reads this...I know it's a Vespa! But...I do now own a GP Manx Replica and did own an Li150 (S1), Li 150 (S2) and Li150 (S3) in addition to the SX225 that I destroyed on the way to and from the Euro rally to Cork back in 1998 (I think).
  16. My 15 year old nephew has explained iTunes to me. My 11 year old neice just about remembers seeing a CD. Neither has ever held a vinyl record...of any genre. I feel sorry that they have missed out for so long. Uncle Chris is now on a mission to turn them into Soulies & Vinyl Hounds...though as their parents binned the record player long ago I suspect I may have an uphill battle.
  17. Scooterboy... I had a scooter (since I joined SS I now have 2 scooters) I was a little younger than I am now...hence 'boy'. Perhaps I should change it to 2-scooters-old-fuddy-duddy...doesn't have the same ring to it though. If you were to ask the wife she'd suggest 'MiseryGutsSelfishTw*t' (or worse). Chris

  22. Hi Folks, I have a few peices for sale. If interested contact me via PM. Will try and add scans over the weekend (I am a Luddite and Wifey's going to have to help me). No paypal on this occasion...sorry about that. I'm after cheques as I have a poorly Vespa engine that needs major attention and I'm also trying to buy a 1970 Lambretta GP200 and the seller won't take Paypal from me. Alternatively if you are in the Manchester / Stockport area I could meet up and I'd be happy (as you might imagine) with the cash. All at least EX condition (will offer finer grading when I get home and check again...but I have tried to be conservative with grading so that no one has cause to be disappointed). Betty Wilson - I'm Yours - Dayco £1,200 Bobby Adams & Betty Lou - Dr Truelove - Trax £500 Ollie Jackson - Wipe Away The Teardrops Magnum £350 Sandra Stephens - If You Really Love Me - Ja Wes £250 I may sell my Ted Wilson - I Can't Take No More - Sierra but would want in excess of £1,500 There are a couple more that I'll dig out when I get home. Thanks for looking. Chris P.S. Price includes Royal Mail Special Delivery. P.P.S. Shipping to UK addresses only - sorry.
  23. Hi, I have a an EX+ / M- copy that I may consider parting with. Please contact me via PM or chris.penn@voweurope.com with an idea of the offer / price you are willing to pay. Thanks. Chris
