  1. Tommy Navarro = sold The Dynamics = on hold
  2. Hi Folks, 2 for sale as I have this week been mostly overspending and need to recoup some £. I'm sorry, but payment can only be accepted by bank transfer (preferred) or cheque (funds to clear before postage) on this occasion as PayPal won't help me. Money back guarantee if not satisfied with my grading - I have limited, but good feedback so please buy with confidence. Thanks for reading my ad - please PM me if you are interested. P&P via Special Delivery is extra at £7.50. Tommy Navarro - I Cried My Life Away - De Jac £300 (EX) Bell Sound stamped (see photos). Label is not faded, it would appear that the red print was not evenly applied at time of manufacture as there is no fading to the flip and no fading of the pale turquoise background. Vinyl is really nice both sides, with really minor hairlines that look to be resultant from being put in/taken out of sleeve. The Dynamics - I Need Your Love - RCA Demo (VG+/VG++) £275 I personally think this grades VG+ (though it was sold to me as VG++). Plays great, loud and clear - no issues whatsoever. Quite a few minor hairlines and fingernail type scratches (i.e. not gouges in the vinyl, but bit more like having brushed a fingernail across the vinyl to create a soft scratch rather than a sharp scratch...I'm explaining this really badly...sorry). More on flip side than on the I Need Your Love Side. Photos below to aid/assist. I'm no David Bailey, but I have tried to capture images that show then true condition of the records. Many thanks for your interest and for looking. Kind regards Chris
  3. You should have no trouble...it'll be a piece of cake...
  4. Al Apollo = sold Four Tracks = sold Helen Shapiro = sold 125th Street Candy Store = sold Virgil Murray = sold Patti & The Emblems = sold
  5. Hi Folks, Thanks for taking a look. Needs must I’m afraid… I am a cautious grader. I’d rather you were pleasantly surprised at the conditions, not slightly disappointed. I have tried to be realistic with my prices, that being said if you think I’m a country mile away from a fair price then please let me know (but try not to take the you-know-what). Can’t take PP on this occasion I’m afraid. Bank transfer/cheque etc. Full £ back guarantee if not satisfied with my grading – I have limited sales feedback, but good feedback so please buy with confidence. Recorded delivery add £3.00, Special Delivery add £7.50 Four Tracks – Like My Love For You – Mandingo £800 Copies appear to have dried up of this still in-demand record. I’d rate at least VG++, still plenty of gloss, with a few small scuffs and a very small number of very light scratches, none of which affect play. Helen Shapiro – Stop & You Will Become Aware – Columbia £500 EX+/M- Beauty! Patti & The Emblems – It’s The Little Things – Congress Demo £200 VG+/VG++ with a number of small hairlines (I suspect from being taken out of/put back in the sleeve). Plays great! 125th Street Candy Store – Silent Heart – Fania £150 Nice copy – VG++ at least. Virgil Murray – I Still Care – Airtown - £75 VG++/EX Very in-demand and really nice condition. Al Apollo – I’m Walkin’ – Cub £80 Lovely copy, EX at least. Fats Domino – If You Don’t Know What Love Is – ABC Paramount £30 VG++/EX now enjoying a resurgence in plays. Slight label wear. Pookie Hudson – Jealous Heart – Double L (Demo) £30 VG+ (WOL on flip), plays spot on! Mighty Marvelows – Talkin’ Bout Ya, Baby – ABC £30 EX – lovely! Sam Butera – Rat Race – Dot £25 EX – lovely! Jerry Williams – What Do You Plan To Do About It – Calla £20 VG+, label wear but plays spot on!
  6. Hi, I thought I'd seen this advertised recently. See bri phill post in Sales from last Friday @ 15:17 THE DEBONAIRES HEADACHE IN MY HEART rare UK TRACK issue VG+ label tear on b side 65.00P Not sure if it's still for sale, but I hope it helps you. Chris
  7. If you would like to adopt me, on the condition that I too get a stack of originals as a 'welcome to the family son' gift then please feel free to drop me a line Dad!
  8. Hi Folks, Thanks for looking. At least VG+ copy for sale. I think some would grade this as EX. I would rather err on the side of caution even though I believe this would grade way better than VG+ and I'm not sure if SS gradings give me the option of VG++/EX-. Record has a few small, light scratches/scuffs (NAP) and fine marks from being in and out of a sleeve. Some evidence of 'greying'/wear to grooves. Plays great, still plenty of gloss. Nice clean labels. Money back guarantee if not satisfied...no dramas. £450. Can't accept PayPal on this occasion - sorry. Payment would need to be bank transfer/cheque etc. Thanks for looking.
  9. I have the same 'customised' paper sleeve with the rubber stamped image running around the hole in the middle. There was me thinking I had a unique 'one-off'...b*gger.
  10. Hi Folks, Project Debut 111 turntable for sale. Used a handful of times (tops) and is in excellent condition. Has Ortofon stylus (again used a handful of times). I don't have the box and as such don't feel comfy trying to package it up and ship it across the country. If you live in the Manchester area I'd be happy to deliver. I work in Sheffield a few days a week, so I could also deliver to Sheffield/Barnsley areas. Alternatively I travel to the West Midlands a couple of days a month so I could deliver around the M6 corridor between Manchester and Coventry, but delivery is dependent on my meetings/workload so you might have to wait a couple of weeks for me to be in the area. Happy for cash on collection or better still payment via PayPal as F&F. £175. Please PM with any questions. Many thanks Chris
  11. Hi Folks, For sale at a reduced price...The Majestics - (I Love Her So Much) It Hurts Me - Linda 121 Demo. Overall vinyl condition is probably VG++ for 95%+ of the disc. In general the vinyl is nice (lots of gloss along with a few hairlines/in and out of sleeve type faint marks) but there are a couple of faint, and one quite noticeable, scratches. These do not affect play in any way. Plays nice and clear and 'click-free'. I've tried to capture the obvious scratch in a couple of the photos. Given the noticeable scratch I think it’s fairer to downgrade the overall visual grading to VG+. I am quite picky about conditions and as such I try to be harsh with my grading so that any purchaser is pleasantly surprised, as opposed to being a little disappointed. I do have some feedback on the site so please buy with confidence. I will also provide a full money back guarantee if you are dissatisfied - I don't think I can be any fairer. £300 (P&P extra £7.50 Special Delivery, £2.75 Recorded Delivery) I cannot take PayPal on this occasion I'm afraid, so it'll need to be a bank transfer / cheque (funds will need to clear first). Thank you for looking. Chris
  12. Hi Folks, As a consequence of buying records too close to Christmas and forgetting I hadn't paid the previous credit card statement in full...I am selling The Majestics - (I Love Her So Much) It Hurts Me - Linda 121 Demo Overall vinyl condition is probably VG++ for 95% of the disc. In general the vinyl is nice (lots of gloss along with a few hairlines/in and out of sleeve type faint marks) but there are a couple of faint and one noticeable scratches. These do not affect play in any way. Plays nice and clear and 'click-free'. I've tried to capture the obvious scratch in a couple of the photos. Given the scratches I'm probably going to have to downgrade the overall visual grading to VG+. Please excuse the quality of the photos...I am clearly no David Bailey...but I think they'll help you with the condition. I am a picky so-and-so and as such I try to be harsh with my grading so that any purchaser is pleasantly surprised, as opposed to being a little disappointed. I do have some feedback on the site so please buy with confidence. I will also provide a full money back guarantee if you are dissatisfied - I don't think I can be any fairer. I saw an eBay copy a couple of months back sell for £650 though it was in slightly better shape than mine. I would like £400 for my copy. I cannot take PayPal on this occasion I'm afraid, so it'll need to be a bank transfer / cheque (funds will need to clear first). Thank you for looking. Chris
  13. Hi Folks, I think a VG+ rating (visually) is about right. Multiple light 'hairlines'/light scuffs (I suspect from being in'out of sleeve). Plays great. Satisfaction guaranteed - I want you to be 100% happy. If you any reason you disagree with my grading (I strive to be fair in what is a subjective issue) then a full refund is provided - no hassles. I have positive feedback on this site so please buy with confidence. £60, which includes shipping via Recorded Delivery. PayPal is fine as F&F or alternatively a cheque or bank transfer will be more than acceptable. Thank you for looking. Chris
  14. Hi Rob, Yes, went virtually straight away. The subject title should have been updated to indicate this. Thanks Chris
  15. Hi Folks, Again, needs must I'm afraid so I'm selling Ray Pollard 'The Drifter' on original United Artists white demo £150. Record plays excellently. Vinyl grades visually at VG+ (there is some visible wear / 'greying' in the grooves, there are hairlines from being in/out of sleeve and a couple of very minor scratches, none of which affect play). The record does however have a warp, this does not affect play in any way (well not on my turntable anyway - SL1210 @ 1.5g). I have DJ'd on a number of occasions using this record and the warp has never caused a problem. Payment would need to be by bank transfer / cheque on this occasion, PayPal doesn't really help me this time around. Full refund if not happy, but please be confident (whilst I have limited feedback it is all good). Postage costs are £7.50 Special Delivery and £2.95 for Recorded/Signed For. Thank you for looking. Chris
  16. A couple of days in total, and this was mainly due to emails bouncing between the buyer and myself. But pretty much it sold straight away. I've had a few messages subsequently but have been away for a week or so and have only just got around to responding to them. By the look of the messages there was pretty high demand for this 45.
  17. Hi Folks, Needs must I'm afraid, and that's the only reason I'm selling my copy of Bill Bush. I'm Waiting, Ronn 17. Centre hole is ever so slightly (and I mean ever so slightly) off centre, but by butting the centre hole against a solid 45 adaptor the record plays spot on. There is a drill hole and an official-looking sticker on the label stating 'For Demonstration Use Only Not For Sale' Vinyl is VG+ visually with a number of small scuffs and a handful of small scratches, none of which affect play. Seen this fetching £1,200 - £1,300 so I hope that you'll find my asking price of £800 to be fair (this includes Royal Mail Special Delivery within the UK). Sadly I cannot take PayPal on this occasion as I have bills to pay that can't be paid with PayPal funds. Bank Transfer preferred but I could also take a cheque if that helps you. I don't have any pictures at present, but if you need them I can get them when I get home from work tonight. If the record has to be posted overseas then I'll have to enquire about shipping rates / insurance etc. Thanks for looking. Chris
  18. Your kind words will be appreciated by John's family and please be assured that your posts have been read, so on their behalf "thank you" for taking the time to share your thoughts and memories. At Bev's request I am now able to give you details of the arrangements for John's funeral which will take place on Monday 25th April. 12:30pm St Bede's Church Widnes (Appleton Village, Widnes, WA8 6EL) 1:30pm Widnes Crematorium (Birchfield Road, Widnes, WA8 9EE) Thereafter there will be a gathering at the United Services Club, Prescot Road, Widnes, WA8 7PD (the club is next to The Wellington Inn). Kind regards Chris
  19. I am immensely saddened to confirm that our dear friend John 'Biff' Griffiths did indeed pass away last night. I am unsure as to whether this thread has been started in the correct section of the site, if not perhaps the moderators will kindly intervene? Whilst it appears that John passed away peacefully in his sleep that is of scant consolation to Bev, his children and his wider family. Our thoughts are with Bev and John's family at this saddest and most distressing of times. John has a giant of a man, in stature, in presence and in his knowledge of, and love of, soul music. Whilst a stalwart of the Northern scene in Widnes and Warrington for over 40 years he was well-known, well-respected and well-loved across the North West and much further afield. I won't attempt to list the events that John DJ'd at or promoted over the years, suffice to say that the North West scene would not be what it is now without the massive contribution by the guy I am proud to call my friend and mentor. I was privileged to have DJ'd with John and Dave Truscott at The Birchfield (Widnes) for nearly 10 years and for the last 6 years to have worked with John and Maurice 'Moz' Arnold at The Northern Line (Warrington), and to not be able to hear John's always cheery greeting of "Alright Matey" seems unbearable. Whilst John didn't suffer fools gladly he was always prepared to share his knowledge and love of the music to those who were keen to listen, learn and enjoy. I for one will forever be indebted to John for his time, his patience and the guidance he gave me, and which he continued to give even up to just a couple of weeks ago at his 60th Birthday event at The Northern Line. John had a few years of medical challenges with his two bionic knees and issues with his heart, though we'd all thought that we has on-the-mend, and indeed to many of us John looked far healthier in the last 3 months tan we'd seen him for some time. The fact that he did seem so much better recently made the news of his passing even more shocking. Whilst I'm not usually stuck for words I am struggling to write any more at present so I will sign off. John's son has asked me to post the sad news on Soul Source and whilst it's too early to know what arrangements will be for the funeral I will seek permission from the family to share the details as and when it is appropriate to do so. Rest in peace big man...you are loved more than you know. Chris
  20. So very sad to hear of Ian's passing. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Ian as well as many of you did, but I did have the pleasure of listening to his spots and dancing to his well chosen, quality tunes (all of which were on the 'right' labels too). I am saddened that none of us will be able to give him the resounding round of applause in future for a spot well thought out, well executed and well received. My thoughts are with Ian's family and friends at this very sad time. Chris
