  1. Hi Steve, Friday 8th December is the next event. Our special guests are Steve Skopek and Carl & Maria Willingham. Hope you can make it. Chris
  2. I think you may be right as it's disappeared from his site as a BIN, but I suspect he had more than one Mint copy as I seem to remember that he auctioned another Mint copy and achieved just shy of £400 around 12 - 18 months ago...unless of course he was selling that for a customer...or my memory is playing tricks on me (which is entirely possible). Nice result getting a copy from the Louise Neal collection BTW...
  3. Kell Osborne seemed to be a good buy as far as I can tell. I prefer The Lonely Boy Song myself (a track that Dave Truscott got behind in the heydays of The Birchfield in Widnes). International GTOs also appeared to be a good(ish) buy given that JM had a copy for some time on his site as a BIN for £400 as Mint unplayed. I thought Chapter Five might have sold for even more than it did...but still a pricey record.
  4. Nice set? Bloody hell Geoff, that was a blinding set! Whilst as a result of illness I was unable to attend and hear first-hand what sounds like a masterclass I am mightily relieved that I didn't have to follow you and pick up the last hour! I've never been so relieved to have been poorly! Chris
  5. Hi Folks, Have reduced price to £80 inc shipping within the UK by recorded delivery...I'm hoping this represents a really good deal for someone. There are plenty of scuffs but, aside from the odd crackle, the record plays very well indeed. I'd probably rate the visual appearance as VG/VG+ though my feedback in general seems to suggest that I tend to undergrade (which I think is no bad thing). I think the attached photos probably accentuate the scuffs and they show the very worst of them so hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised. Please note, this is the yellow issue - on a couple of photos the label colour has come out white (I've no idea why and don't know how to correct this). As per usual, full money back guarantee if you're unhappy with my grading. £80 inc Recorded Delivery shipping within UK. Payment would need to be by bank transfer on this occasion as PayPal doesn't help me at the moment. Thank you for taking a peek. Chris
  6. Hi Fplks, Needs must (again...I'm making a habit of this...) so I'm selling my issue of George Smith - I've Had It - Turntable. There are plenty of scuffs but, aside from the odd crackle, the record plays very well indeed. I'd probably rate the visual appearance as VG/VG+ though my feedback in general seems to suggest that I tend to undergrade (which I think is no bad thing). I think the attached photos are a accurate reflection of the condition (capturing condition in a photo isn't as easy as it sounds dependant on light source/shadows etc). Please note, this is the yellow issue - on a couple of photos the label colour has come out white (I've no idea why and don't know how to correct this). As per usual, full money back guarantee if you're unhappy with my grading. £100 plus shipping. Payment would need to be by bank transfer on this occasion (or cheque / concealed cash) as PayPal doesn't help me at the moment. Thank you for taking a peek. Chris
  7. Hi Folks Fantastic sets by Dave Slater, Derek Watmough and Chris Churm which unfortunately (for my bank balance at some stage hence) have been added to my ever changing 'wants' list. I had the 9pm - 10pm spot this time around and managed to squeeze the following into the time allowed: Paul Sindab - I Was A Fool Otis Lee - Hard Road To Hoe (request) Volumes - Ain't Gonna Give You Up Martells - Where Can My Baby Be Timothy Wilson - Hey Girl, Do You Love Me Soul Communicators - Those Lonely Nights Bill Bush - I'm Waiting Jesse Johnson - Left Out The Charts - Livin' The Nightlife Sam Ward - Sister Lee Little Eddie Taylor - I Had A Good Time Cookie Jackson - Do You Still Love Me Lost Soul - Secret Of Mine Ernie Washington - Lonesome Shack Peppermint Harris - Wait Until It Happens To You Albert Washington - Somewhere Down The Line Sammy Ambrose - Welcome To Dreamsville Ralph Graham - She Just Sits There (request) Chapter 5 - You Can't Mean It The Moments - You Said Cody Black - I'm Slowly Moulding Paulette - Love You Babe Brice Cofield - Ain't That Right (request) Nat Hall - Why Brooks Brothers - Lookin' For A Woman Yum Yums - Gonna Be A Big Thing Until next time (Friday November 17th) Chris
  8. Hi Folks, Needs must... For sale is my copy of I'd Think It Over by Sam Fletcher. VG+ graded as there are a number of hairlines from being in/out of sleeve. I do try to grade conservatively but if you disagree there's a full refund, no dramas guarantee. Plays absolutely spot on. £300 (plus £7.50 Special Delivery or £3.00 Recorded Delivery...I'd opt for the Special Delivery 'if I were you') Payment has to be by bank transfer on this occasion I'm afraid. In one photo the label looks faded, it's not faded, it's the lighting that makes it look that way. Label is ever-so-slightly offset, but record itself isn't. Proper stamped original with correct run-out details. Please PM to reserve/buy and thanks for looking. Chris
  9. Fantastic condition, grades at least EX. £125 (plus your preferred shipping method - £2.95 recorded, £7.95 special). Thanks for taking a peek. Chris
  10. Hi Folks, A couple to go, so thanks for taking a quick peek. Payment ideally via bank transfer, but PayPal F&F is also acceptable. £2.75 postage 'signed for', £7.50 'special Billy Sha-rae - I'm Gone - Spectrum (EX) £150 Porgy & The Monarchs - My Heart Cries For You - Musicor (VG++ few light hairlines) £45 Otis Redding - You Left The Water Running - Stone (EX) £30 Fantastic Four - Pin Point It Down - Soul (EX) £15 Thanks for looking. Close offers considered is you genuinely think my pricing is out. Chris
  11. Boy do I need to get out more! There are plenty of 45s in the sets listed that I don't know. Those that I do know are top drawer! This sounds like a venue that I really need to get my sorry @rse down to. Chris
  12. Folks, It was my turn for the last spot of the night. There were some absolute belters played by Dave, Les and Chris beforehand so I really had my work cut out for me. There might be one or two that I've missed, but the order is correct. Sam Dees – Lonely For You Baby Jimmy Bo Horne – I Just Can’t Speak The Volumes – Ain’t Gonna Give You Up Johnny Rodgers – Make A Change Ralph Graham – She Just Sits There The Four Voices – Your Love Is Getting Stronger The Rotations – Put A Nickel On D-9 Bud Harper – Wherever You Were Dusty Wilson – Can’t Do Without You Clarence Reid – I’m Your Yes Man Wade Flemmons – Jeanette Wade Flemmons – Two Of A Kind George Blackwell – Can’t Lose My Head Stewart Ames – Angelina, Oh Angelina Brice Cofield – Ain’t That Right Little Richie – Just Another Heartache Tomangoes – I Really Love You Timi Yuro – I’ll Never Be Over For Me The Commands – Not Time For You Kind regards Chris
  13. It clearly must have gone up as a quick trawl of SS suggests that you had a good idea of the price in June 2016 when you advertised it for sale @ £450. Perhaps the prices of Jock Mitchell 'Not A Chance In A Million' has also rocketed as it appears that you asked for prices on this twice in November 2016 and then again in February 2017...and it appears that you got responses. Similarly it also appears that you also asked about prices for Dean Parrish 'Bricks Broken Bottles and Sticks' in February and July of this year...again it appears that you got responses. I've asked for guidance in the past price-wise and have always been appreciative of the efforts that have been made by those that have responded...perhaps if I keep asking the price of tunes in my collection will eventually attain a price that I'm happy with. Given the above, and assuming that I haven't erred (which is entirely possible and if that is the case then I apologise unreservedly in advance), then I am inclined to agree with both Pumpkinseed and Benji.
  14. I might be wrong (I often am according to the current wife), but it would appear that the same guy asked the same question on this site on 25th February this year and received a number of responses. Has the value of this record 'gone through the roof' in the last 6 months so as to justify raising the question again? Chris
  15. Hi Folks, I am led to believe that this 'playing card' type design is quite rare, especially for the demo. I can find hardly any evidence of prices for this particular variant so I'm taking a punt but will also be open to reasonable offers. I'd hope to achieve somewhere around the £150 mark. Condition is VG++ with a few hairlines and one small scratch that I've managed to capture in one of the photos. I am a really picky grader so I hope that you'll be pleased, but I provide a full money back guarantee should your and my grading be out of sync. I do have good, albeit limited, feedback so I hope that you can buy or contact me with confidence. P&P is extra, but if I get £150 I'll pay for Special Delivery. Payment on this occasion would need to be by bank transfer, cheque, concealed cash etc...sadly on this occasion PayPal is of no use to me. If you think my pricing is way out then drop me a note, but I've tried to be realistic given that this does appear to be quite rare in relation to the other variants of this record and therefore somewhat difficult to price. Thank you for looking. Chris
  16. Hi Folks, Some of my plays from the night, split across two sets. Not all, but just what I can remember. Liz Verdi - Think It Over & Be Sure Beverley & The Del Capris - Mamma, I Think I'm In Love Erma Franklin - Abracadabra Athens Rogues - She Could Love Me The Accents - You Better Think Again Bobby Adams - I Think You Want My Girl Mack Starr - Down By The Waterhole Esko Wallace - Triple Zero Little Charles & The Sidewinders - Talkin' About You Babe Chandlers - Your Love Makes Me Lonely Steve Mancha - Did My Baby Call? Herman Lewis - Who's That Kissing You Tonight Sparkels - Try Love (One More Time) The People's Choice - Savin' My Lovin' For You Tangeers - Let My Heart & Soul Be Free Donna King - Take Me Home Gerri Hall - Who Can I run To Gene Woodbury - Ever Again Lost Soul - Secret Of Mine Trends - Thanks For A Little Lovin' Timmie Williams - Competition 7th Avenue Aviators - You Should 'o Held On Chris
  17. Hi Folks, A knackered boiler now forces the sale of a couple or rare ones that are in great shape! The Allan Sisters is in genuinely M-/NM and comes with a company sleeve. £600. The Vel-Vets is in EX condition with just a couple of minor hairlines and one very minor scuff (so minor I couldn't capture it in the photos), but other than that it's in tip-top shape. Plays great...no styrene hiss or wind-back hiss. Some very minor wear to the label (see photos). £600 I won't be able to consider trades and payment would need to be by bank transfer. I do have good, albeit limited, feedback on this site so I hope that you feel able to contact me with confidence. P&P, Special Delivery etc not included in price. Thank you for your interest. Kind regards Chris
  18. Hi Folks, Needs must I'm afraid... Grading is EX and there are a couple of hairlines and one very minor scuff (so minor I couldn't capture it in the photos), but other than that it's in tip-top shape. The a couple of the marks are only obvious to me when directly underneath a string light source. Plays great...no styrene hiss or wind-back hiss. Some very minor wear to the label (see photos). I have limited, but positive, feedback on this site in respect of my grading, but there's a full money-back guarantee if you're unhappy. I am a really picky sod when it comes to records, but I'd have no hesitation in buying this (if I hadn't already bought it that is). £700 ovno. Payment will need to be by bank transfer or cheque (I hold the record until funds are cleared). I'm afraid I cannot take PayPal this time. Many thanks for looking. Chris
  19. Hi Folks, It looks like I'll need to sell my Allan Sisters. Condition is genuinely M-/NM with company sleeve. It would appear that this is a rare record and if I do part with it it'll need to be for a good price. I've never done this before and instead of a set sale I'm going to offer to the highest offer I get. I have chosen this course of action as I have had wildly differing views on the value of this record and because of it's outstanding condition. I won't make any offers public as I don't really agree with that strategy. If you're interested just tell me what it's worth to you, though any offers will need to be in excess of £700 as that appears to be the lower end of the opinions I've been given. I won't be able to consider trades and payment would need to be by bank transfer. I do have good, albeit limited, feedback on this site so I hope that you feel able to contact me with confidence. Due to work commitments and access issues I will find it difficult to view or respond to any offers/questions until early next week. I might however be able to pick up emails so if you want to contact me other than by PM then you could try me on chris.penn@voweurope.com In light of the difficulties you might have in getting hold of me I will contact the person with the best offer a week today (Wednesday 12th July). Thank you for your interest. Kind regards Chris
  20. Hi Pete Thank you for having a ferret on my behalf. As it happens I'd seen the post but it appears to be from 7 years ago, and given that prices appear to be in a constant state of flux (i.e. anything I want to buy shoots up in value and most things I sell seem to go in the opposite direction) I wasn't sure how reliable a guide that might be to today's price. Thank you for taking the time to do some digging though, it's genuinely appreciated. Chris
  21. Thank you 'Tempest'. I have only known about the record for the last couple of years and didn't realise it was such a big spin quite a few years ago. Chris
  22. Hi, I have a genuinely NM/M- copy of The Allan Sisters - I'm In With The Downtown Crowd that I'm considering parting with. Can anyone give me a realistic value that I might achieve either as a straight sale or as a trade-in / trade-against any 'wants'? If I do consider trades I'd be looking for a single 45 of similar value in similar condition with maybe a cash adjustment either way. It's not definite that I'll sell/trade but as funds are dwindling I may need to consider this to fund or obtain any major wants. Can anyone advise please? Thanks in advance. Chris
