  3. Ive heard this in Scandinavia a couple of times now ..nice tune DJ Jonter maybe ?
  4. Chi-Heat I posted it up earlier
  5. Im sure some of Kebs things were 100 club ,as he did start his crusade for different 60's there and Stafford came a bit later for him ? I cant be 100 % sure as I was heavily into 70's and 80's by then and the memory is not so good
  6. Ive always thought Eddie Parker "Im gone " was speed funk Oh no Ive said it now

  13. Yes I would say that of quite a few tunes around that time Dave ,although Stafford had more newies modern and 60's
  14. Also according to undercover 60's mafia types . many of Kebs Stafford monsters were ,tried at the 100 club first so thats Big Frank , Cairos , Lil John , Royal Robins , Tony Galla etc etc
  15. No way Russ... Clarkie got his first off Cozzer and played it every set for a good two years or more from 1983 onwards .. cant make the Portsmouth doo Im off to Sweden this weekend to play some 70's and 80's newies atb Simon

  17. Hi Taffy , nice to meet you at Chris and Moldies . Ill be Deejaying at Soulastatic , Gothenburg with Christain and Fredrick , lots of Modern played !!
  18. Just pick whats best for you Martin
  19. I was a mod in 1979 and that record caused mayhem , as everyone jumped up and down like punks and became agressive .. I wonder how they danced at Wigan to The Who ?
  20. Is it true they played The Who at Wigan ?
  21. Those breaks , perfect for northern dancers and funk .. if only I was young again
  22. Surely The Love Experience is out and out hard funk ?
  23. Yeah Johnathn was the chap playing early house mixed in with , well almost everything . Again I cant say where things were played first ( well unless its a modern soul new release) ... but Ive heard most of the funky stuff was played in London on release at venues like Crackers . It was obvious to me that people had quite a few different dance styles at Rare Groove nighters and could often adapt to the records played .. Today the Northern scene is happy to stick to one style of dance , and even fast shuffling is not ofen seen
  24. Yeah thats right the dancers at Meltdown gigs were used to funkier styles under the banner of Rare Groove .. I cant really remember a track that went over to nighter scene from rare groove at the moment . ps. Not really the Jazz Funk styles of 1980/82 .. although that was included at Rare Groove gigs too
