  1. Some of the £1.50 £2.00 stuff that Soul Bowl had is fetching big money .. I think most of the time JA had the few boxes of the various independent releases that were available ..took a few years to sell em , and then that was it .. Must admit I paid a fair bit for Ike Strong and Motherfox in 1984/85 though
  2. Then again , you do need a Trolley for the Acetate box
  3. A Modern day good feeling is .. Finding a top soul sound thats been posted without Genre info on ebay !!
  4. Cheers for the Info ...Im into this ballad now ... Sweet !! its in the box now as a Great double sider .. It still surprises me when old Modern Scene records like this go for high prices . I guess the few hundred of us that where into it ( early 80's ) and got em cheap were very lucky .
  5. Thats the way to go Ivor .. but another Mixed Feelings just went on ebay for over $5500 ..
  6. Hey he sounds like Frankie Beverly (the lead on this side )

  10. Ive got LP's and 12's by Ike and no 7's ..I hope this is on it ! Was it "Shake it loose" that was quite popular ?
  11. Thats a bargain .. I only remember Dave Raistrick having these in quantity ..A superb bit of Group Soul , the lead is just fantastic !!
  12. I think it nearly went £700 .. BTW my mate Martin Wilson sold his for £5 to Bob Jones
  13. Just dug out my copy .. It has a ballad b side "Stay with me" Do some copies not have this recording . A Question to John Manship really Who just had one on auction ...
  14. To Quote The Fast Show Jazz .............. Nice ......
  15. Nop .. "on the brink" , "peanut duck" ahhhhh and I forget many . but I first heard Royal Robbins and Two People via Keb and he , allegedly compiled a modern soul tape in the early 80's that got me collecting mainly that !
  16. hahah That reads as a good Modern soul DJ Line up
  17. Yeah I agree with Pete-S for once, plus a high % of Kebs plays on the Northern scene were dire !! (to my ears and many others ) Pat Brady . Clarkie etc had much better 60's 70's & 80's
  18. Ive also seen a few go on ebay one a few months ago
  19. These sort of records , ( with hindsight) spoilt the night for me ..for me Guys 60's stuff was better ! Keb did have his moments though , but Big Frank three times in the space of an hour ..dear me
  20. " I wonder " I think Ive heard that ..any thing else on it Steve
  21. I love it .. its so good it doesn't sound like an obscure item ..very polished sound etc , if you get what i mean !!
  22. I have to say I find that Hott Ice , a bit better than Ellipsis ....In my opinion , and all that
