  1. Hi Alan - I'll be at Just Soul! Mike
  2. No Tony - it was a great concert. Overlong ? - It was a very short set and are you sure about Ronnie Wood ? - it was Ian McLagan from the Faces. Charles Fullilove was his lead lead player back then and yes plenty of 'licks' traded but that was expected - he wasn't the typical soul man - was he ever ? Pretty much reflected his recorded material back then to me - 'Facts Of Life' etc ... Mike
  3. They were the support act for Bobby Womack on his first ever UK appearance - Hammersmith Odeon - March 6 1976 - which I was lucky enough to attend - seem to remember they were pretty good, Mike
  4. I always thought it was 'The Wheel ' (don't know which one) too Mick - love the record!
  5. The styrene boot is a Monarch pressing with a matrix number far too high to be an original - 95372 - its great quality though .
  6. Might try and get there Sean so bring one along in case
  7. and at that time you had no trouble recognising it..........crap that is
  8. Nothing like the benefit of hindsight
  9. If you don't know the record how did the voice give it away Ian ?
  10. Got your's and John Lloyd - both look very nice indeed - amazingly you both included the same Epsilons track !! great stuff! Mike
  11. £12,750 divided by all the landlords in Brid is not a lot of pints:no:
  12. ......their hotel had put an extra Tax of £1.75p a night on their room Can't imagine that is going to allow them to retire in the sun .... is that figure right ? and is it worth worrying about?
  13. Got Dave's, Steve's and Kitch today - lot's and lot's of stuff I don't know - looking forward to playing them. It's also great when you get one two that are personal favourites - like Cissy and Linda on Steves :o) you know you are doing something right! Looks like a good swap this one Mike
  14. U.S. stands for 'United Soul' it was a young line up consisting of Garry Shider-lead vocals; rhythm guitar, Cordell Mosson-bass vocals; background vocals ,Harvey McGhee-Drums, Peggie Turner, Larry Mosson, Ben Edwards-lead vocals - Shider and Mosson later joining the other nut jobs in Parliament/Funkadelic:) Check out wikipedia => https://en.wikipedia....with_Funkadelic If you can't get the 45 its on those Soulful Thangs compilations Mike

  18. My first batch went out today - just finished the rest and will post them tomorrow. Let me know if you don't receive one!! Hope you all enjoy it!, Mike
  19. Been around the houses a few time with this Pete - see below. My belief is the purple is the original with the red being a later legitimate repress,
  20. I thought it was a Kev Roberts KRL/Goldsoul offering/release? I'm Sure Roger Williams on here did the art work.
  21. Donald Lee richardson---You Got me In The palm Of your hand--Soulville - Fantastic double sider!!
  22. and the the side has 'potential as it is also another Dees effort and a dancer by Bill Brandon 'Whatever I Am'. Both sides are awful but I have it because it is Sam Dees - sad as I am. I think there is a story behind it - Sean H ? Ithink was going to tell me - I'll ask him at Just soul Mike
  23. Always struggled a bit with Garland Green's diction, enunciation or pronunciation - call it what you will - but it does detract from what are otherwise wonderful records/songs, sorry. Always loved the between song chatter on the SAR boxset with Sam Cooke admonishing the Womack Brothers - 'Since you are singing words lets sings them as precisely as possible' and of course he was the master.
