    And Lou Courtney is credited as singing Tenor on it along with Johnny Moore, Bill Fredericks and Rick Sheppard. Looks like there was an unreleased version of 'I Dig Your Act' from the same sessions (8 Nov '67) !

    But that was then and this is now...grown men are not impressed by DJ's - they love their Soul music - all their life in most cases - their tastes have changed and have been refined over the years , rarity is not a virtue, Quality is! The label, studio, producer, singer, writers, musicians all contribute to the quality - rarity does not! You can love a rare record because it is good (and I certainly do) but not because it it rare! How can you like 'rare' soul per se?

    It didn't, it began as a Soul scene where people danced to records. But your point was that it was the quality of the dancing that was somehow having an effect - which is simply ridiculous.

    I think they do realise that the northern scene is/was about are records (frequently not mind!) Steve. However, what John and the others also realise is that after all these years they are more interested in quality over rarity and as such you can purchase many wonderful records (for their listening pleasure) for the price of a big ticket item (which might also be wonderful) . And lets be honest that is the point about records - listening pleasure - they are not things to look at and talk about having/had/played out/sold in some sort of pi**ing contest which is sadly often the case these days IMHO of course ..

    Which version is the Kent Anniversary single? the vivid sound album version is the 'stripped down' down (which I prefer) as opposed to the Kent CD version/mix.

    Thanks for that Rod - a tidy sum for a dealer to find really. What about in the case of auction - when it is someone else's record and not your stock, is it just the commission that is taxed?

    Don't know a lot about taxation other than PAYE, but how does it work on an auction item? How is it broke down ? Is there any VAT involved ? are you taxed on your commission? Years ago Alan Fearnley - Middlesbrough's favourite record shop - use to sell second albums for 97p - he'd pay 60p make 30p profit and 7p tax - I think that was the breakdown Just interested.... Mike

    Hope he gets them back - but there again I hope anyone who has anything stolen gets it back !! But I'm not sure I'm ready for the introduction of Saudi law and order as a deterrent!
