  1. You most certainly do Plumby - and your set remains one the highlights of the whole Soul Essence weekend for me!! Lofty
  2. 'Tryin' To Love Two' made the top ten in the Billboard chart and sold over 1 million copies.
  3. the 100 club anniversary singles pisses me off - two days after the event you see the Sales section - 'got a spare copy - £50' - very nice, why not give it to someone then?
  4. I wasn't going to comment on RSD Paul but since you mention this... I went down to 'Sound It Out' in Stockton yesterday (the official RSD day shop for 2011), there was a queue outside and they were letting people in as others left - after about 15 mins the owner came out and asked what people were after - I asked after this box set and the Clarence Carter EP- no Fame box and he had sold the CC. So I left. Now I thought the idea of the exercise was to support your local shop, however, I log onto ebay today and what do you find , over 2000 items listed https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l2736&_nkw=record+store+day+2012 including the one you mention So instead of having a pleasant day buying records for a change , I'm left frustrated. Sadly, like everything else it has just turned into a money making racket !!
  5. Bet Gamble & Huff spotted/mentioned the missing Carolyn Crawford
  6. Manship has been auctioning some of those early B&S and HOTB one at a time - one on there now - so be sure not to give them away Nick.
  7. I can tell you who has made the least money - the artists and all the creative and talented people involved in the production of the music
  8. basically 'Afternoon Of The Rhino' Ian - same mob probably!
  9. Nice set Ian but....maybe i can't see but no 'I Miss You' - Harold Melvin , 'Love Train' - Bunny Sigler and one of my all time favourites Carolyn Crawford's - 'Just Got To Be More Careful'?? And what is the rational with the running order - not in chronological order? Mike

  15. Are You Ready / You Got The Power To Turn Me On was also released in the UK - I have the 45 - Direction 58-4098 released in UK in 1969 Never too rocky - just different and very 'hip'. 'Time Has Come Today' was my first introduction to them via the Direction various artists LP 'Groovy Baby' - so that should be included also. Remember seeing them on the Lulu show one Saturday night back in the days when TV attempted to provide proper entertainment - now that was a real treat! Good luck with it Mike
  16. I thought you had sold it via Manship last year?
  17. would it be OK if i had a small snack - perhaps something like a cheese toastie and a cup of tea - and then stay until the end - or would this deem me a lightweight and disqualify me from saying I've been to an allnighter. Would only the time up until the snack was taken be counted ? - which would make it a mini nighter, which of course does not exist and is really only a Soul night !
  18. Flanny - I put one up for sale about two years ago for £150 and could of sold it six times!!! Sadly I didn't have six.
  19. Thanks all. Knew about the recent re-issue and sort of figured as Steve P said, the UK release must of nipped the bootleggers in bud with its prompt release back in the day . However, I have it on Tower for the Deep b side ( one of Steve P's favourites!!) but now it has reached the dizzy heights of a Manship auction I didn't want to find myself chasing a replacement for silly money!
  20. Was World Column 'So Is The Sun' on Tower ever booted and if so how can you tell ? Thanks, Mike
  21. I'm sure when Adam went to collect ours - we only live down the road from Sedgefield - they were making a flight case for a coffin to be transported !!!
  22. Freddie Hughes - Send My Baby Back LP on Wand Must be mint to mint- vinyl AND Cover. Let me know your total cost inc p&p and paypal fees. PM please - will reply to all
