  1. One good dancing, foot stompin good time rock n roll songs ever, and Miss Ruth lays down those lyrics just right, you can feel the heartbreak and love.
  2. Tears Of Sorrow may be a different song, from their Lupine sessions.
  3. We're gonna go waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back to the beginning, now maybe Berry didn't think much of this one when Smokey recorded it on them, but if you dig doo-wop from the female side then this one is a keeper with Mary Wilson on lead and you can hear a young Diana Ross in the background...also there were FOUR Supremes then, with Barbara Martin...an overlooked doo-wop gem.
  4. You want Chicago soul, well this soulman had plenty of it-born with Polio but also a great baritone Walter made his mark with such classics as-Speak Her Name.. Uphill Climb To The Bottom, as well as the very supperclub sounding-[Funny] and his signature song, the great-Welcome Home his singing was second to none and the material was top notch-check out his definitive version of-It's All Over, with producers like-Riley Hampton and Carl Davis no wonder Walter didn't miss in the Sixties...Sir Walter-Soul Royalty!!

  5. From his Motown period, a nice one that more than likely got ignored and too bad because had someone pushed he could've had a hit.
  6. No disrespect, but I don't think many will care about his life before he got famous...I'm a fan of his music but I never heard of him before then.
  7. I don't know if this gem from the Iceman was a single ,but it should've been, a very well put together tale of lost love from one of the best to ever put it on wax...from the LP-Power Of Love.
  8. Nice groove from Heatwave, with the unusual sound of-Put The Word Out to the mellow-Leaving For A Dream and the title cut good one for the disco era.
  9. I Can't Turn Around-The Marvelettes
  10. For those of you with the LP, listen to-Sister Love, a rollicking soul salute to the power that a woman's love can have on us, one of their best.
  11. One of their best ever, full of good soul here they were still a quartet with-William Powell on some of these tracks in[1969]but gone by the time this LP was released...Looky Looky-One Night Affair-I've Got The Groove-Let Me Into Your World...just some of the goodies here, a great album from a great group.
  12. Nice little piece of soul from his LP-I'm Still In Love With You...just kinda floats along.
  13. Some of these comments-crack me up!!
  14. Nice groove from the group that changed it's name later to-Rock Candy.
  15. That's not a crack, that's a break in the Andreas Fault!!
  16. Sorry Robb, if you said you posted it, that's good enough for me, my fault for not reading the whole post.
  17. Maybe from the critics standpoint it might be-Young Mods Forgotten Story or Keep On Pushing.
  18. There was also another group of-Temptations[White Group-Barbara].there were several groups of-Supremes in the fifties[Male].
  19. I've always been a fan of the great-Wes Montgomery, maybe the best jazz guitarist ever whose idol was-Charlie Christian.
  20. They had a hit with[I Really Love You]and were on their way under the tutilege of Ms. Barbara Mason.
  21. Hey Stanley I dig what you say, because some years ago I ordered a rare 45 and it had a crack in it[although it plays]I started to send it back.
  22. Some great blow harmony from the group that invented it, Harvey Fuqua give a great lead on this cool doo-wopper.
  23. Although not a big seller when released[1969]this little soul cut has become something of a cult classic, if it had a good second verse it might've sold a million, still one of my favs from back in the day.
