  2. As far as I know, even though it is the harder of the two to pick up, Larry Allen is actually a second release (genuine though) after L Allen Mike B
  3. Great stuff Carl I really enjoyed listening. If you haven't done so already have a chat with Paul Mooney - Millbrand on SS - he might be able to give you a few pointers that will help. Stick with it! Mike B
  4. Ted PM me mate - got a yellow label demo that I'll sell at the right (and fair!) price - not mint but not trashed either! I shall await your PM! Cheers Mike
  5. The term coffee table book could have been coined for this! In fact the book is so big you could stick four legs on it and have friends round for dinner - fantastic - this thing is so heavy its unbelievable - not listened to the CD's yet and only skimmed through the book but from what I've read so far its better than I expected it to be. Gregs excess baggage charge must have been something else Thanks for getting it signed Mark - at £60 its not the cheapest book but the sheer size and quality of it plus the CD's make it worth every penny ATB Mike Bolderson
  6. after saying the Nomads was pants - double no
  7. Have a look under Bob Dorman and the Nomads
  8. Know what you mean Paul - funny thing is that with a few 45's I've spent years chasing, its a bit of an anticlimax when you do get them.... others were well worth the wait I don't need no doctor Ray Charles
  9. someone's told me its listed in JM's latest guide at 1k blimey missus
  10. As far as I know this is the same bunch as the Mo-Groove outfit - dragged it out of my collection ... Has it been played out or is it known? think its a large mp3 file but not sure how to reduce it if someone else can convert it and repost it that would be great ! Cheers Mike Bolderson
  11. Only slightly more than you have spent on beer tonight Cheers Mike
  12. Nice keepsake that letter Mark - pity he didn't sign it I really love you! What are the tapes he talks about? Best Mike
  13. I've got an ex+ of Donna Coleman on a WL demo I could be tempted to part with - pm me with an offer Cheers Mike
  14. Neil give John Manship a ring - I remember him telling me a while ago he had a copy tucked away Cheers Mike
  15. Still waiting for a 45 I won a good three weeks ago from this seller After reading this thread I have opened a paypal dispute - hopefully that'll get him moving Ho hum Mike
  16. Thats the one Chalky - me and Ron have exchanged views about paying artists royalties in the past - he was behind the soul king label releases and subsequent re-releases as well as NSC acetates. Despite being given the opportunity to pay royalties / a small percentage of the profits to the artists who's work he released he declined the opportunity. There might not have been much money in it, but hey its the thought that counts! Theres people like him who take the money and people like yourself who sell photos on behalf of the artist - I know which of you gets my support Cheers Mike Bolderson
  17. there was a thread on here about National Sound acetates a while ago - basically the company didn't exist pre the 1980's, so don't get too excited about value or rarity google the company name for more info or search on the forum Cheers Mike
  18. still on ebay user id lawofboca paid 168 dollars for the velours on MGM. When it turned up it was a boot - returned the record and the seller wanted to deduct a $20 dollar 're-stocking fee' - I refused and never saw another penny (or cent ) - all factual so print it His email address is lawofboca@aol.com as usual uncle sams finest did f*ck all when it was reported to them and visa / paypal were useless - so we exchanged negative feedback. Still, in the spirit of goodwill and just to show him there were no hard feelings I assisted him with membership to several sites other than ebay which I'm sure he will have appreciated its nice to be nice after all
  19. Also, I have put a claim in with my credit card (Goldfish Visa)...will this work?
  20. How weird - I could swear that the feedback was showing when I checked the auction at its end, but its now private - is it a soul sourcer who read your post
  21. I remember you getting 'Gloria' what was that last one called you got on 45 with the same backing Pete? Cheers Mike
  22. I don't know of any story behind Terri North - think the seller said it was actually Terri Thornton under a different name. Just a question of a few bidders wanting it - quite a good backing track as I remember, sort of Sandi Sheldon on Okeh tempo. There are a few with the same backing track - The Lord said and Gloria are two that spring to mind and I think there is a third with the same backing but can't remember the title. I think the common thread with stuff on Preview is that the vocals are generally cr*p! Have you got a soundclip of the Bonnie Graham? Cheers Mike
  23. Blimey your up and about early Pete - glad you put Joe Vandiver on there because I was desperately trying to remember the name after last night getting old and the memory is going ATB Mike
