  1. I put a copy of Kell Osborne - Quicksand - Titanic on ebay and it got bounced as being an unauthorised copy - honest guv its an original demo - I can only assume this is because Kell Osborne is similar-ish to Kelly Osbourne as in daughter of bat biting Ozzie and ebay's automatic programme has picked it up as being a possible copy of one of the osbourne family cd's?????? Anyway, has anyone else had seemingly innocent listings bounced by ebay and did you complain to them ????? Anyone wanna give me 300 for said disc - pm me Ebay twats! Mike
  2. I've spent the weekend sweating away at the PC to list a bunch of 45's on Ebay - nearly all have soundclips and range from the rare to not so rare - quite a few obscure 45's on their for the collectors plus some sought after bits and lotsa nice starting prices - so give 'em a look and listen! Click HERE? or if the link fails search for user ID mike4512 Cheers Mike
  3. Pete he's a muppet - he just sent me an email that was headed: "do not get your sad mates to email exposing their stupidity, it's boring" and all it said inside was 'CYB' presumably cyb is some geeky slang for go boil your head or something. Anyway the blokes obviously deluded unless his normal level of customer service usually result in people other than the buyer emailing him to tell him he's a knob?, I've blocked him on my email. Happy days
  4. Ladies and Gentlemen I commend to you: GLENN HENNING, 7 PORTSDOWN EDGWARE HA8 7LE Trading as select45rpm.com I ordered and paid for a record including £1.90 recorded delivery and today politely enquired whether it would be here by Friday. Mr Henning then snottily informed me I should read my emails as he had already told me it was being posted Thursday (no email was received by me lol ). I politely ( yes really!) thanked him for his customer service and told him I would recommend him to my friends and then received this well thought out reply: YOUR MESSAGES HAVE BEEN BLOCKED FROM THE SELECT45RPM SERVER WE HAVE NO INTEREST IN COMMUNICATING FURTHER WITH YOU, SO PLEASE GO AWAY. DO NOT REPLY TO THIS Hang on all I asked was would my record arrive by Friday Well Mr Henning I am also busy working hard to earn money to spend with record dealers like you, however I am not so busy I can't spare a little bit of time to recommend you to my friends as I promised I would - so Soul Sourcers if you want to pay over inflated postal rates and get sh*te customer service from someone who clearly thinks they are doing you a favour by selling you a record visit select45rpm.com
  5. Did anyone record the artists performing at Prestatyn this year? There were a few cameras out in the hall - Doni Burdick has asked me whether I can get him a copy of him and the other artists performing.Preferably on DVD if possible. If you can help please PM me Thanks in advance Mike B
  6. Here's a scan of the original - the re-issues are plain orange and have the Harthon name written across the top Although Bernie Williams was actually first issued on an orange label most first issues are like the one here! Cheers Mike
  7. I sold a mint copy for £120 about 3 months ago - I would consider that prety much a top end price - generally go on ebay for around £100 mark these days for a copy in good nick less depending on condition of course HTH Mike.
  8. I paid around sixty for it as I recall - from lil peddler and it is 100% original as far as I can tell - he got a bunch of these as well as the Oxford nights HTH Mike
  9. Hi Ed I've got both and they are two different takes Cheers Mike
  10. I sold a copy on ebay mint minus for £250 only one bid - cheap I thought, but I didn't lose out on the deal either so everyone was happy - as far as I know this did turn up in some quantity not 100's but enough to bring the price down. IMO anyone looking for £700 will be waiting for a long time.
  11. Glad we've cleared that up then is the UK 45 one that was issued to meet demand or was it released as 'normal'? Still looking for a US copy if poss Mike
  12. At a decent price of course Pm me if you can help please! Cheers Mike
  13. Top tune One of my recent bargains from Gemm this - $3 each for two unplayed copies - listed as rock records by the bloke who once booked them in New Orleans Mike
  14. The Capitols also did a great version on their 'we got a thing' album - it's an LP only track as far as I know... Have a listen Mike B CAPITOLS___OPEN_THE_DOOR_TO_YOUR_HEART.mp3
  15. no because as far as I know, the high bidder has bid a massive amount on it just to make sure no-one can be had over and buy the 45 Its nice to know that soulies look after each other Mike B
  16. Its a bit late at night for me to be playing poirot but the seller of this that Lars has flagged up 'dick baker' is the person who is bidding on the groovettes... I tried to contact one of the bidders to warn them but ebay will only let you contact one person a day if you are not buying or selling with them and I'd exceeded my limit of one Mike B
  17. Yep you're spot on John and if you hadn't brought out the bootleg books there would be even more people losing out... I know you put your site address across your scans and I generally do the same with the more expensive 45's that I sell on ebay - its not a failproof system of course but it does make it harder for the fraudsters who use these scans  Its a pity more people don't 'mark' the scan with something. If it looks too good to be true it probably is - I know 'cos I've been caught out before but fortunately didn't lose out financially. Cheers Mike B
  18. At one time I though Belgiums biggest claims to fame were Phillipe Albert, Poirot and chocolate - not so, repeated attempts to scam Northern Soul collectors is up there with them: Check this one out peeps : INNA2220 Then have a look at Pat Bradys site because thats where he's nicked most of the pictures of the 45's from Avoid this ebay seller like the plague methinks Cheers Mike B

  22. Some good points well put there Mike. But do you think that the oldies brigade would check out your playlist before attending, or not, I mean on a website? Have you ever had anyone attend your night, that said they had come, because they read your playlists? Phil.
  23. We always put them up on our website after an event www.eastangliasoul.co.uk and often give an idea of the sort of stuff future guests will play - the reason being that the area where we run our nights is a bastion of the oldies brigade, and our aim is to try to play something different from the same old same old - in theory it works two ways - lovers of the sounds they heard at the youth club are forewarned and people who want something different know they can get it with us.... But do agree that with the likes of Butch c/u c/u c/u doesn't really take you anywhere.... I like playlists in the sense that it gives me a clue as to what I could expect at a club I didn't know that well.....also as a DJ I find it interesting to see what other people are spinning and the type of sets they are putting together (when they are sober enough to remember of course ) So for me playlists get the Cheers Mike Bolderson
