He died Feb 8 1972 in Cincinati, OH. His father was James Hargrave Sr. The photo he gave to Bettye is signed, and he signed it Sylki. I had not seen the photo in years. It is not hand tinted. And he was in the Air Force, not the Army.

Just came across this thread. I'm Kevin Kiley, Bettye's husband. I can tell you for certain, that Silky was a black man. She has a hand colored photo of him in his army uniform.

Very interesting. Certainly does sound like Carl. Curious to see if anyone can shed some light on it. And while we are talking Carl Hall, WHY is there nothing digitally available, even a Youtube rip, of He Gets Everything He Wants - Mercury 72547?!?!?!?!

Just spotted this album on YT after not looking for a few years. Bettye said that her acetate was just her 2 versions. So maybe for radio, they made TWO albums, as Bettye, Carl Hall, Koffee, Main Ingredient are not on this album either. This album popped up after looking for 20 years, so maybe Bettye's will turn up. I hope so!

I doubt it, being that the pressing was in Camden NJ outside of Phiily.

My thought was it could have been a band that was backing them in the studio and they had an idea for a song, asked if they could cut it, and the studio just said Ebonys Band.
