  4. Hiya, can't remember the culprits ? But I do remember the badge we had done with the old tin hat on, drawn by Steve Hayes as we sat in the crown. Cheers
  5. Hiya, yep 'invincibles ' thank you. Just want a copy now and it's a cheap one for a change. Cheers
  6. Hiya, Hayden road, I think you have the nail on the head, will check but that sounds familiar now, too many tunes in my little brain and thanks only dreaming, any info on little mr lee ? Cheers
  7. Hiya, got an old tape no titles or artists. The track in question ' so much love' falsetto voice, chugs along with horns and piano break towards end, cracking old tune. Is it van mCcoy penned ' sounds of soul' on SOS records, gold label. Can't find owt on YouTube etc to clarify, same with discogs. Any help please, while here- little mr lee & the Cherokees - ' my best friends girl' unreleased sure shot tune ? I know it came out on Kent album in 8ts/ 9ts but I guess no single ? Info please, thank you, cheers
  8. Hiya, redditch crew has posted a few times on this subject and it works for him. Follow his advice using the materials he states. Not sure but some people seem to try things without following the guidelines he has stated, eg wrong glue etc. check back near start of thread where he uses specific materials. As above try it on a record you don't care for. Got to be worth a go. Cheers
  9. Hiya, should be some film from cleethorpes weekender a few years back, cheers
  10. Hiya rick, slightly off topic. Always wondered why shops like woolies etc and small indipendant shops would suddenly have titles for sale in the seventies, probably ten years after release and there they were all to buy in mint condition, sometimes in wire baskets just stacked or in woolies on a big board/ shelf. Thought I'd ask because you were selling stuff at the time, cheers
  11. Hiya, are you saying that bobby Hutton / willie hutch uk issue on abc is shite ? I take it you are joking. Without uk issue records this site, clubs etc would not exist, if you have any shite records like that, I'll take em. Cheers
  12. Great stuff, selling snacks to the folk at the front, while spinning tunes. Obviously all popcorn. Cheers
  13. Hiya, probably been asked before. How many records use this same backing track ? Honey Townsend, mark Johnson , Laura green etc ? Years ago I remember for some reason we got to about 14 tracks. Anyone remember the - subway riders or something like that ? Or were a lot just cover names of same track ? What shall I do covers two with different intros I guess. Cheers
  14. Hiya, meant to say 'ernie & ed ' - indication. Not sure which way round but one must have copied partly off the other, funnily enough words in indication say its my proposal. Cheers
  15. Hiya pete, not sure who played it out first but remember a guy in Scotland had it, think maybe Keith money bought that one, not sure ? Seemed to get really popular mid nineties and was still played as ' Cecil Washington - it will last ' not much help I'm afraid but might jog someone's memory. Cheers
  16. Hiya, listened to sounds of the sixties from day one, sad news.
  17. Hiya, b&q are using ' sliced tomatoes' in their latest ad. Cheers
  18. Hiya, does shifty grade his pipe work ? I would hate a job done that said. Hairline crack but otherwise good + needs cleaning. Cheers
  19. Hiya, one I love is me and my mate terry ( wheel goer) is stepping through imaginary frame to ' steppingg out of the picture' and that little fast round of applause ( applause not for us by the way) hundred club thing but great. Cheers
  20. Hiya, keep forgetting ' smiley face' etc etc But as I've said before, never read a book/ article with ' hey it's only a joke/ this is serious, at the end. Cheers
  21. Hiya, not too sure about cate bros, not really real soul but then again ' battered ships' odyssey, doobie bros long train and then mike McDonald ' god knows' another thread on here. Soul used to be so different when I was a sprog. Maybe this should be a separate issue but some of my favourite tunes ( not all by a long way) are by artists who jumped on the sounds of the time- Charlie rich- don't tear me down hi recordings. Billy shields- I was a boy, johnny maestro - stepping out of the picture, billy storm on hbr etc etc etc. somewhere someone said ooh that sounds a bit like X record and someone else said ' do you know that X record sounds a bit like this record and then somebody else said I'm gonna play this record by ' graham Bonney - super girl,' because it sounded a bit like the X X record and then............ As someone said ' if the shit fits, wear it. Oh by the way ( no I didn't bring my guitar) I've been listening to Otis and Levi all night. Keep the fat, cheers
  22. Hiya, And yes I do love curry but has to be home made these days as Indian/ Bangladesh restaurants have gone far too mild. I actually grew some micro scotch bonnets to put in mine, guaranteed to make anyone dance without music, my arse twitched as I wrote that last bit, scaredy arse!!!!!, cheers
  23. Hiya, Chris always had a good ear for tunes and can play them in the right order. Though curry and soul ain't my bag. Soul, beer and more soul is. My only gripe with Chris is that on one of his earlier trips to the states he mentioned a new series called ' family guy' and I've been addicted ever since and if I remember correctly ' spicey food was not on his menu. Twisted wheel oldie was more apt ' can't sit down'. Cheers
  24. Hiya, just sorting through a big box and yep, still have uk RCA copy. Cheers
  25. Hiya, larry Houston still has em clapping these days. Cheers
