  1. Seen loads of artists, but deans first night in the UK was the most instantly remembered, the moment the roof came off - all he said was L I V E, I looked at ' Trev wright' and we both said Fxxcking hell, awesome, cheers
  2. Like you say a great track and still cheap,
  3. Hey Paul, perfectly put. The fear of dog breath. Still happens now !! Next it's armpits and then clothes that went into the washing on Monday, left to stagnate and reappear at the weekend, the warmer the clothes the stronger the smell, a heady mixture of catpiss, brut, ralgex etc etc, happy days I must be at a soul do, cheers
  4. I thought Joey ' wake up etc' was way over priced at £ 2.80 although cereal addicts would probably pay three quid for the morning happy tune. Obviously soul fans would be just be going bed listening to Walter Jackson, cheers
  5. I've got various boxes, metal, wooden hand made, super strong 300 count boxes, shelves, stacks, cardboard, drawers etc but beer crates still look fantastic and remind me of days when you could just have a look through without any hang ups, ( nicking etc) - yeah, have a look through pal. ( And yes the guys knew who to watch) no rose tinted specs but happy days. Still happens now with the right guys and what's great is, pull a tune and they go - yeah Pete, you'll like that. Trust & honesty,= no lids on boxes, rarer than rare, cheers
  6. Yep, agreed but a dream 45 would be 'reach out for me' backed with ' let the music play' . Calling ADY C. & Kent records, cheers
  7. Would be better without the singer( only heard the hell side) the chorus melody is known and was used in an episode of family guy, cheers
  8. Hiya Andy, thanks for that but didn't notice any info on singer but have found a basic demo credited to ' Joseph wood', mystery solved ??, Cheers
  9. Hello Andy, the DJ Shadow track , I used to play as a new release at a weekly do. Got to be around a dozen years or more ago, it then started jumping so haven't heard it in yonks. If I remember it was an unknown artist (indie type singer). Is the singer now known ? Ps. One mate of mine used to request it but sadly no one else. Cheers, pete
  10. Version I couldn't think of was by love foundation, cheers
  11. Ramping up, Kenny Williams ' you're fabulous babe' followed by Arthur prysock ' when love is new' , all fantastic groovy tunes with hints of love boat and great fun, no guilt, pure pleasure, cheers

  19. Blimey, I could write a good list of missing records but some have turned up in multiples. Moaning one day about stolen records and Colin Chamberlain said - Pete, I've found a little pile of your records behind the radiator in the green rooms. Beer has been involved a few times, cheers
  20. Yep, agreed. A bit like defining northern, cheers
  21. Hiya, lowrider music has never been just soul music it covers lots of genres. Lowrider soul is a term used to cover mainly more midtempo/ down tempo and sweet soul. Basically cruising music. We used to watch lowrider / beach movies in the 7ts due to being into drag racing, custom cars etc. Lots of doo wop, cheers
