  2. Hiya, Peter and anyone else interested, the local paper ( Hinckley times) are going to do a piece. They want a few photos etc. mark , anyone ? Cheers
  3. Hiya, speaking to local paper, not too sure about putting do on as we already have green rooms, bounty allnigbter, prince of Wales and Clarendon club, wouldn't bother with council. Cheers
  4. Hiya, yep thought about contacting times as they do loads of nostalgia stuff, if people are ok with their photos etc being used but being serious here which is very rare I really have not got a clue about technical stuff. If my kids were here no prob, but my one finger typing is getting better. VG - I'd say. Cheers
  5. Yes mate, Tom towers boys club, Brian Rae was always on here. The badge on the right was drawn by Steve Hayes as we sat in the crown one night, steve spins a few tunes down our do at prince. Gleaming dm's then and still gleaming now. Cheers
  6. Hiya, some cracking stuff appearing. Mark regarding alkin suite, there was a group of us that put do's on there originally wednesday then Mondays plus the old st johns on a Friday and to cap it all dayers at stoke rd boys club(Tom towers). 8. Blimey mark, have you moved into your loft ? All good stuff. Don't suppose you have a flyer for my 5th birthday. Cheers
  9. Shame to chuck em, I've lost loads moving house etc but I still play tapes in my car much to everyone's joy. When say car I mean skip on wheels, makes for interesting driving when the tapes mangle, maybe I need to upgrade to 8 track. But old tapes are really great, especially live ones from nighters where you can hear yourself & mates discussing the merits of tunes being played. Happy days, cheers
  10. The steering wheel, spinning wheel, valley lodge. Long gone, mr Superbad used to dj there ( let me tell you about this great new lp from k. Tel, souled out. Tv ad). Think there were soul do's every night in Hinckley & Nuneaton. Cheers
  11. Good stuff mark, can't remember seeing the major live album only the torch one. Unless I had seen it and thought it was torch re issue, it's the beer you know. No one remember the bubbles do's ? May have been before leisure centre ? Cheers
  12. Hiya, yeah knew dave a bit younger than me nice bloke, not seen him for ages. Will ask about. While on this there was some nighters at the old tiffs which was called bubbles at the time early 8ts. Think they were run by nog & Chris king, anyone remember ? Cheers
  13. Not too sure but I think the demos are only on the push out centres ?
  14. Hiya, glad you put that up, I knew I'd read something about cream records that you had written in shades of soul some years ago. Cheers
  15. You'll love her, cheers
  16. If you had asked me about jackie Wilson I would of said years later and I have (did have) a good memory. Cheers
  17. That comment about jackie Wilson caused a little shiver to run through me. Great to read all the memories, been a lot of soul in Hinckley over the years, still plenty now. Cheers
  18. Nice record but I do get the Gilbert comment, it's that intro. Cheers
  19. Cracking line up mark, last group I remember appearing was tavares 87 ish I think ? Was with my old mate last night, think that was his first job on site. Regards the club across road the old regent club now long gone had a few nights early mid 8ts. Cheers
  20. Sorry about that. Huh
  21. Yep, with you on that, but why so many demos ? Not saying the demo's ain't valid. Scary world. For everyday collectors who want proper originals. Old boots are mostl fine( unlike my ex mrs) ahem!!! Eg I have del larks feat Tyrone Ashley . No prob, plus loads of others , wrong label etc etc. but new counterfeits with a little distressed worn look, changes everything, unless. You really know. ? I don't Do you ? Sherlock please don't leave. Me at a standstill !! Ah yes young man I have some copies in this dark corner- Watson 'what me' ? Watson & Watson, it will never work, where's that lazy Williams bugger. Too late. Cheers
  22. Can't ever see that making that price again , mega dance tune , but for me nah. I could buy so many records and buy a car - holiday and buy a new boot of that on eBay (soon watch this space). Cheers. Ps it will say larry Clinton Mint- rare 7ts press, looks unplayed
  23. Hiya folks, hinclkley leisure centre is being demolished in march- april. Not the greatest of venues for me as for me ( sports hall) but some great times there Ric tic revue. Etc . Would love to hear some memories. Cheers
