  1. Hiya, nice bit of happy pop soul - tavares 'being with you' cheers
  2. On a garrard deck of course, before those fancy haiwan twin decks. Cheers
  3. Hiya, by the way any dj in the seventies worth his salt would have a nice red telephone plugged in to cue the next tune in!!! That was tammi Lynn and back in the charts with a bullet ' the tams- hey girl don't bother me' Cheers
  4. PS. Never try to mix northern tunes, really don't work too well. Although must say ' break out' Mitch Ryder and just bros 'sliced tomatoes' sounds great if done well, reverbing those horns as the guitar kicks in, does sound impressive. Cheers
  5. Hiya, back cueing is how it should be done, slip mats, wait for the beat and let it go, nothing worse than that horrible wwwwrrrrwurp by miscued tunes, if you ain't happy with that, don't dj . Or alternative play cds and bring along a ring girl as per boxing etc, you play track on cd as scantily clad woman walks round with your original on dance foor held aloft for all to see. Female dj's can use their own preferances for similar effect, although in my case why would my wife want to see a fat, short arsed bauldie walking round half naked with a copy of the ' snake' and as she says ' it serpently ain't in his pants !!!! Cheers
  6. Hiya, do your own thing, forget the copying of moves, looks only good if right track is playing, prob would be ' right track' nothing worse than seeing someone with practised moves to wrong track, if you ain't carefull you'll end up with baggy trousers etc etc. if the music moves you that's great, enjoy, cheers
  7. Happy new year rob, quality stuff. Jimmy delphs 'where there is love' absolute class !! Cheers
  8. Hiya, I really have no idea how many copies, just like the tune. Not much help there then. Cheers
  9. Hiya, great record. Heard it played twice this week in Hinckley, green rooms Tuesday and sketchley grange tonight. Had some hammer over the years but still sounds great played out. There's more copies around than most folk think. If I remember wasnt it covered as bobby Womack ? Cheers

Hiya, remember 'terry jacksons soul hole' one time we were in there he had a pile of Laura green moonlight etc and said guess what lads just found these in the attic, happy days. Cheers
  11. Masters of soul, good record, great price. Cheers
  12. Hiya, without bootlegs we'd have nothing to talk about (moan) I think it's funny when folks say I've never played em, not many people can truthfully say that. Genuine re issues are fine by me and unreleased stuff. There's people out there getting tracks out to be heard. They should and are supported by many of us. If a bloke/ woman turned up to dj with say a box of Kent releases what's wrong with that ? First track played to get people in the mood 'Maxine brown torture' Eddie bishop call me, surely a uk original. Is a dj accepted if he played our love is in the pocket on stateside demo. At our do today dazz played hy- tones don't even know my name on bell, love it and rare but if he played on southern it would still be great. Now counterfeits that are set to deceive WRONG !!!! Anyway enough waffle I'm off to play strings a go go on soul galore of course followed by I'm gonna find me somebody on out of the past. Would have been boring without them. Why I remember, stood in tescos waiting at the checkout, bloke in front had a with it jacket on but the logo said 'south face' priceless. Cheers
  13. Hiya, wish I had the money spare. class!! Funnily my mate and dj rob Gray played this at the prince today. Cheers
  14. Hiya, only just listened to buck ram platters, different but nice, thanks geoff
  15. Hiya, got to say everyone including the ones mentioned have all been great from individual purchases to regular suppliers like des Parker, can't fault anyone. Rarely write or say anything sensible, so that makes a change. Cheers
  16. Hiya, just remembering some of my early tunes that I picked up from my sister- the gloriies-give me my freedom, gene chandler- nothing can stop me, John freds playboy band-Shirley. Showstoppers etc. only read part of this so far and the click mentioned was a neighbour of mine in burbage a very well known Leicester fan, talking of which Bournemouth tonight ' come on you city slickers. ' cheers
  17. Hiya, only just seen this. The night owl was a place my late sister (rip) and my brother in law used to visit ( night owl) plus others. Looking forward to reading this as from them ( mainly sister) I got the bug. Cheers
  18. Hiya, great record. Sure there was one in sales very recently for £60 I think ? Cheers
  19. Blimey dazz, you're nearly as old as my phone. Wasn't there during filming but remember people not being happy about it. When it was first shown on itv I went work in the morning and getting jip from my foreman saying 'bloody hell pete, you told me you were great dancers, all you do is spin' then lecture about rock n roll, jiving, women etc. cheers
  20. Hiya Ian, like everyone says, just enjoy. Make your own moves, I do regularly especially on way to bar across ( I said to bar) dance floor. BEWARE of lessons, I spent ages and loads of money perfecting the skate. First night out and they play 'twine time' beware of some on here as you probably noticed, quite mad. Cheers
  21. Hiya, great song. I like all three versions mentioned but jimmy is probably the best version. Love jimmys 'there goes the forgotten man' cheers
  22. Hiya, still got stax album, some great tracks. Still got got out on the streets, very flimsy vynil but a great mix of ballads and uptempo stuff. Cheers
  23. Hiya, when you buy records you already have for a third time, cheers
